    Test=84ng/dl...went back to Doc.

So I posted in the steroid questions forum about my total test levels being 84ng/dl at age 24. SHBG was 25. I was REALLY concerned....so after getting my results by phone...I went back to the Dr.

Talked to the Dr. today and he took 2 more samples and is doing a check of FSH, LH, and TSH. He's also referring me to a Urologist who specializes in HRT/TRT. Why would he send me to a Urologist and not an Endrocrinologist?

Either way....he said there might be something wrong with my pituitary, but he's not sure. He said there are things he could give me to get my sex drive back (at zero now)...but that they need to find out WHAT is causing the lack of testosterone. Any input is appreciated.

i think it is 50/50 with the doctor referral, i mean an urologist deals with reproductive organs and an endocrinologist deals with endocrine glands, and the testes are an endocrine gland. im kinda wondering why he would send you to a urologist as well. hope everything works out bro, how long till the other results are in? keep us posted

It is an overlapping area. Many urologists deal in HRT and are way better then most of the clueless endos out there. Depends on the doctor.

When posting lab results it is best to post the range for that lab as well as your results. Each lab is different and a number that is normal for one may be WAY off if used with another lab's range.

The following labs should be done

    Total Testosterone
    Bioavailable Testosterone
    Free Testosterone
    SHBG
    DHT
    Estradiol
    LH
    FSH
    Prolactin
    Cortisol
    Thyroid Panel
    CBC
    Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
    Lipid Profile
    PSA

Endo's see more patients that are diabetic then any thing else so that is where there experience lies. From my experience urologists are more apt to see patients that have libido issues. So they are more knowledgeable in the hrt/trt field.

    tested TSH, FSH, LH

    LH was NORMAL
    TSH was NORMAL
    FSH was very low

So the doc says HCG won't help...and I'm probably going on TRT...he referred me to a Urologist. I asked him about other levels and he ordered

    Prolactin
    E2

to be tested today and all of this will be faxed to the new Dr.

So....TRT is pretty much the way it's going to go now with my LH/TSH ok.
