I have to ask what are you trying to accomplish with the visit. When I first went to my endo, I was going with intentions of possibly getting testosterone of some kind and was just new to this website and knowledge of HRT in general. I HAD already though had a blood test prior to the endo visit that showed a low level of testosterone and I made her aware of that. I had only done AAS one time previously about 15 years ago and I am know 37. I don't even know what I would have said if she had asked if I had ever taken gear. It didn't even cross my mind nor hers. IMO, I don't really see that it makes a difference as you need to be treated for what symptoms you are experiencing now no matter how they came about. But I do think that some docs might frown/restrain on prescribing if they think you might abuse anything that they prescribe. And sorry not familiar with your insurance but I'm sure you can check with them first so you know what to ask your end what to prescribe that will save you some money....hope this helps a bitOriginally Posted by GetnSwole
well I want to start HRT.
Have you already done a blood test for testosterone level if not then that would be first step if so bring it along for your appt. that's what i did. The endo ordered one more including a few other tests (thyroid blood test)(MRI of the pituitary) and did a digital rectal exam of the prostate and if all is in check cept for your test level being low then they should give you a RX. I tried to get my family doc to RX it but he wouldn'tOriginally Posted by GetnSwole

Would have been a cheaper copay, but its the usual route in most cases to be referred out for HRT.
Let's see....how else can i help....well, if you don't want androgel or any other transdermal then i would have a reason like you have kids(daughters) especially and you don't want the gel to rub off on em cuz you're always holden em....true in my case and I finally convinced mine to give me injects. I've also seen a few other threads where guys have said the same. Hope you get a good endo man good luck bro...let me know if i can help you further.
