Went back to the Derm today

She said the acne looks better but sill pretty bad. She is going to continue the antibiotics for another 10 weeks.

I talked to her about my only other negative side of HRT which is a little hair thinning. She told me that the shampoos are not very effective at blocking DHT and she wrote me a script for Propecia. She said it should not only protect the scalp from DHT but also the prostate.

I didnt think to ask but isn't DHT sometimes responsible for body acne as well? I know Propecia can raise estrogen levels a bit so I think it is a good idea to stick with my .5 mg of arimidex every 3 days.

It also says it can cause some sexual problems in a small % of men. If this happens I am going off. Since starting HRT I am banging like a porn star, I would rather be bald then stop that!

What do you guys think? What have you heard about DHT and acne?

Checked with my HRT doc. He said propicia will mess things up for me big time and do not take. So I will stick with the shampoo.

He didnt say exactly how it would mess me up but made it very clear that it WILL screw me up.

She wrote me a script for doxycycline pills and a topical antibiotic. I have a special 2% nizoral compounded with something else which i use every other day. Then I use the walgreens 1% nizoral in between.

BP has been ok. I added hawthorn berries every day plus increased the cardio.

I've read propecia will not raise estrogen levels. Read it from a very reliable source too, http://www.baldingblog.com/.
