Blue Cross/Blue Shield in CO
Hey guys/gals...
I've been lurking for quite some time now, you can tell from my post count, finally found a decent doc. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield, anyone have any experience with what they cover or percentage they cover? According to my doc, I didn't "qualify" for TRT since I'm 29 and at 557 test level. I did qualify for HRT, namely HGH. Doc ran a clucagon (sp?) test and determined I have very low growth hormone levels.
I have to go in for an MRI on Monday to be sure nothings wrong with my pituitary gland, i.e. tumor; after that if all checks out - I start on HGH. I'm not asking for anyone to break any rules, but if you can give me a rough idea, i.e. they cover 80/20 - 100%. I've heard mixed answers, when I called the number associated with the group plan, they couldn't tell me. Each state my company operates in, plays by different rules, and they only have WA on hand, since that's where we are headquartered out of.
I would have liked to have received a small amount of test on a weekly basis, but HGH was what I really wanted, and thought I needed based on my research here and elsewhere.
I'd also like to thank all of you for this site and the info it contains.

Have Blue Cross Blue Shield in Oregon and all tests, including MRI and multiple blood tests, all Dr visits including endo, as well as all scripts were covered with minimum co-pay.

Thanks for the reply, according to what I've been hunting down, they do cover HGH. I just have a bud that "claims" to know what they offer. All I know is I'm on the expensive PPO - with what I pay I'm hoping that my bud is wrong. That would be awesome if the copay on the MRI is low too, i think my bud at work, just doesn't "know."
The reason I'm under this impression, I referred him to this doctor after I started seeing him for my issues - before that he had no clue it was even covered by insurance.
Thanks again!

Is that an annual deductible? I wouldn't mind if it was monthly, tbh.
