TRT in UK
I got my second test result today.
11.44 nmol/L (329 ng/dL)
average is 10-31.
My first test result was lower. (below 10)
Is this low enough to start TRT?
My GP referred me to an endocrinologist, this process will take up to 18 weeks (4 months).
Is there any way of speeding up the process? (i.e. Can I apply to goto a endocrinologist directly in the UK, without the GP?)
Is an endocrinologist the best type of profession for TRT?Last edited by nameuser; 07-16-2008 at 02:51 AM.

An endocrinologist is a hormone specialist.
Getting on TRT in the Uk can take some time, my test was 2.4 and they wanted to "wait and see if your body recovers it's self"
If you are at 10 or more you don't need TRT.

My test was below 10 on my first test. I should really be alot higher than 10 due to my age (23). Since the average includes all ages, and testostrone decreases as you age. If I am at my peak test levels now, then when I'm older my test levels will be almost non-existent.
I don't do any activities that would reduce my test levels. I eat every 3 hours, get more than 8 hours sleep, not stressed, workout at the gym frequently.

You are right that the average takes in teens at there peak testosterone levels to much older gents and at 23 you would want to be at the higher end of the spectrum. However the average range is set for everyone and above 10 is fine, if it wasn’t they would set a separate scale for younger guys. Some people will just never have high testosterone levels and that just nature.
If you are above 10 I seriously doubt you will get a prescription. Especially since your levels are higher than they were before, that shows an improvement.
Do you use steroids ?
Are you having any symptoms of low testosterone ? If so what?

I have been taking anastrozole (from an online source), so this may be the reason for the increase in testosterone . Although I stopped taking it a few days before the test. The half life is pretty long at 72 hours.
(should I tell the endo about this, or will he just shout at me?)
I don't know if this is a symptom of low testosterone , but I have no interest in sex.
During childhood and teenage years I exhibited a lot of feminine characteristics in personality and appearance. Once I began weight lifting I became more masculine.
I honestly don't care about being on TRT for life, I'd rather be full man rather than half man half woman.Last edited by nameuser; 07-17-2008 at 03:39 AM.

A decreased sex driver is a symptom of low test.
Why did you get sent to an endo in the first place?
And be totaly honest with your endo about your steroid use , it's not ilegal in the UK.

TRT is a substitute for your natural hormones (testosterone ) I’ve never heard the live cancer bullshitt.
Also I think your GP has to send you to an endo as they are the specialist in that field.
So you test level was at below 10 and then you started using anastrozole (at what dose for how long?) and your test went up just over 10 shortly after you had stopped taking the anastrozole?
Make sure your endo knows about this.
