Pain After Fourth Injection
Hey guys.
I've been on 1/2cc of Test Cyp for four weeks now and my wife is actually injecting me in the bee-hind.
Anyway the first three were fairly painless. I was a little sore maybe the next couple days, but no more than what a slight bruise would feel like.
So this last injection HURTS.
She had been putting the needle in a little more than half way, but after reading here I told her I thought she should put it in all the way. (This is a longer needle than the doc used with my first injection BTW)
So this was the first time she put it in all the way.
At first it was fine, but at the very end of the injection it started burn. It had never done that before.
I didn't think much of it, but last night my ass hurt so badly that it woke me at 2am and I mean it HURT.
I took advil and stayed up for an hour trying to massage it or get some kind of relief.
So after all that... what do you guys think?
Is it normal for it to hurt this badly sometimes?
I read that the oil should be at kind of "body temp" which it wasn't, but we never bothered with making sure it was warmer before.
I also read on some threads that guys aspirate the shot.
Our doc never told us to do that, had the nurse come in and give me and my wife a little tutorial... so we haven't been aspirating either.
Or do you think maybe it was just the needle going too far?
Thanks for any help guys... it's the third day and it's much better today than it felt at 2 am, but if I can avoid doing this again I'd sure like to

I've talked with many differnet people in the health care industry and they are being taught to inject without aspirating. I was taught two years ago by my doctors nurse and she showed me how to aspirate . Two years have passed and now the aspiration is a thing of the past????

You should be using something in the lines of a 22g or 23g syringe x 1-1/2" long. Keep the shot directed towards the upper-outer side of the glute, about 4 or 5 inches down from the hip bone. If you get too low, or towards the middle of the glute, there's a lot of nerve possibilities including the sciatic nerve (not fun). The 1-1/2" length needle needs to go pretty much all the way in. However, when done in the correct area, I hardly ever feel much of anything, sometimes nothing at all. I had a nurse pin me once right in the middle of the glute and it sent me through the ceiling. The pain last for two days! You're probably just a few inches away from hitting the sweet spot.
Hope this helps.

Yeah that's exactly the needle I'm using 23g 1 and 1/2 " long.
The needle didn't hurt at all going in or immediately after... just hurt the next day.

it sounds like you hit a nerve. did you get a feeling like you got an electrical shock?
i use to do glute shots but it can be hard to reach around for larger guys. for some reason i always got T leakage after i pulled the needle out even though i was using 23g - 1.5" needles. i'd also get some bruising. then i started doing quad shots with 25g - 1" needles and at first i really liked them but every once in awhile i'd hit a nerve and get that shock feeling. i'd get bruising once in awhile on my quad. on a few occassions my quad got really sore for seveal days after the shot. the feeling was the same i get when i do a really hard leg workout.
about two months ago i started using 27g - 5/8" insulin needles in my delts and haven't had any issues. so far i have never hit a nerve and i don't get any bleeding or leakage. my numbers looked really good so i'm going to stay with this method.

Na it didn't feel like it hit a nerve. That happened to me at the dentist once... damn jaw was burning for a month!
It feels fine now. I don't know maybe it hit a blood vessel or something... hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon
