frequency of related issues while on TRT

How often do you have issues with high/low estrogen sides or what other problem should someone expect while on TRT?

It just depends on the person, the dose, etc, etc..... Alot of the potential issues can be avoided by using the right ancillaries...

I think bf has a ton to do with E2 problems. Which means a lot of guys could lose 5-10%bf and have higher t and lower E2 numbers (including me). When I was off trt, I lost about 20 lbs and my t went up significantly. We don't talk about that much these days here.

At that 4 years was that same problems with E2 or you stayed for this time on the same protocol?

Do you suffer from this side effect which I noticed on this board while on TRT?

    Anxiety
    baldness
    insomnia or hypersomnia
    depression

sorry guys - was a little toasted last night. My number went up about from the low 300's before trt to high 400's when I was off and had recovered and lost the weight. 400's was still not high enough for me so I am back on. The ONLY thing that changed was my weight and bf%.

One of the sides I get is a little acne. Get it on the forehead and on my sides, call it in the kidney region. The skin can feel real oily at times. A little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab usually seems to help out when it hits.

Also, I do get some occasional aching with the nuts, which started right after taking my very first shot. Comes and goes, nothing severe.

how's your E2 look? be careful with rubbing alcohol because it can dry you out and throw off your skins ph. when you dry your skin out like that with a solvent your skin produces more oily and you can make things worse. my wife use to be a make-up artist and is a freak about skin care.

i've heard alot of guys say a common symptom of high E2 is oily skin. i experienced the same thing and i find when my E2 goes too low i get dry skin and lips. i'm sure this is why your joints start clicking, then eventually begin to hurt.

Good information Dave. I don't know how the E2 is today, but it was a 34 back in August (range 0-53). I am currently taking 0.5mg of Anastrozole, which I am taking Mon, Wed & Fri. I am scheduled for more blood work at the end of Nov., so I'll have a better idea on my current stats. I only spot touch the areas with alcohol. Is there something else you or wife can suggest that I use? Again, it's not a huge problem for me, and it comes up every now and then.
    Thanks!

how do you find the anastrozole? is it compounded or research? i tried both before and to me nothing works like adex. those little pills pack a punch!

i would suggest a good skin cleanser. something that is ph balanced. like the alcohol, soaps that are too strong tend to make things worse because they dry out your skin.

Dave, I found the Anastrozole through my doctor, which I believe is just a different trade name for Arimidex.

I'll do some research for a good skin cleanser. Will using just a little alcohol on some cotton swabs do that much to the PH levels? I use prep alcohol all the time for injections.
    Thanks Dave.

gotcha. the reason why i asked is because i use to be on compounded anastrozole. you're correct, anastrozole is the active ingredient in the brand name Arimidex. my new doc put me on Arimidex and i find it alot stronger than the compounded anastrozole.

i don't use any cleaner for my face, just water but you should check out Neutrogena. they have good skin care products that are ph balanced.

do you take vitamin D? i never thought people who live in sunny climates like arizona are vitamin D deficient but most are. my doc put me on 5,000iu's a day and although i don't have bad skin it actually improved.

Gotcha??? So what is it you see with Arimidex that makes it stronger? Is there some sort of Anti Estrogen effect you noticed one over the other? I will have my doctor clarify the ingredients, strength and facts about this. Everything I am reading says it's the same thing, just marketed under a different trade name.

Thanks for the Neutrogena info. I don't have bad skin either. As stated originally, I do some spot touching with alcohol when I get a small area of acne. This is less than the amount I use when I clean the surface on my glute for injections. You stated that this can throw the body's PH levels off. My question still stands, is this true? Will a cotton swab with a little rubbing alcohol really throw my PH levels off?

i'm not exactly sure why compounded anastrozole isn't as effective as Arimidex. i don't know if it's the anastrozole or the pharmacy preparing it. the compound pharmacy i use to go to is very reputable so i didn't think it was a quality control issue. when i was on the compound i had to take .75mg 2x/week to keep my E2 down but with adex i use .25mg 2x/week for the same affect. i think it's effective, you just might have to take more of it.

spot cleaning areas of your skin with isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) shouldn't throw off your ph balance. it's the safest alcohol to use on your skin. as a side note, mix it 50/50 with distilled water and it makes the best window cleaner on the market.
