high estrogen levels and other issues

I have been on T therapy since the begining of the summer. I checked into it because i was constantly depressed and tired and couldn't get motivated. My labs were 250 test and my estrogen was just in the high range. I started with 1 ml every 2 weeks and then slowly worked up to 2 as a matter of fact I just got my first inject with 2 yesterday. I've been having problems with the ups and downs so i asked my doctor if i could inject every week and he said that it didn't work that way. So we just kept increasing the dose. My last blood test when i was taking 1.5ml showed that my levels shot up to about 800 three days after the injection and dropped to below 600. Pretty much within hours after i get my injection my mood starts to change and i can feel the depression lifting. Towards the end of the two weeks my wife tells me its about time for the shot. The kids start to drive me crazy and i can't stand noisy places etc. I have developed another issue now. I am having problems keeping an erection during sex. I am constatnly horny since starting the therapy but i can't keep it up. I have never had this problem before. My syptoms never included problems with getting it or keeping it up. Would this be caused by the swings in my T levels from the begining of the two weeks to t he end, or maybe because my estrogen level is sky high. please help....

    hi welcome to ar...
just from what you have said, yes it could be estrogen related...you said it was already high before starting test and if your test is dosed at 200mg per ml as usual you have been shooting 400mg at a time and you didnt mention taking anti estro so it could be even higher...definately have your estro re-evaluated and go from there looks like you'll need to add an AI...
    BEST OF LUCK

JPK hit it on the head - Definitely check out an AI to throw in with your program. A complete blood panel will help paint a brighter picture with what is needed in your personal program. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what are your stats? Are you working out on a regular basis. Obviously, some of that can play a role with sexual issues too, and health in general.

You mentioned that you asked your doc about doing this once per week, but he said it didn't work that way (I think that's how I read it). If so, that's crazy! IMO, weekly is the #1 way to go. There's actually quite a few members here that do it 2x per week. I get the feeling that you're dealing with one of "those" doctors, which you will find has happened to many on here including myself. Then the Lord created Anti-Aging Clinics, and all was good again, amen!

    Hang in there!

yeh good point vette...i forgot to shine on that...after your shot your test levels start to rise and peak at day four/five and rapidly decline short after....never to the life of me understand how doctors are still writing scripts with such infrequent shots....
yep vette...the clinics are less trouble and have all you need

I am 37 6'5 360lbs not sure what my body fat is but its definately high. I have lost about 40lbs since being on T therapy. Before i got on the T I coulodn't get off the couch. I had no energy to speak of. I know my estrogen is high because of my body fat. I also no that being fat forces your T levels down. Its a nasty cycle. Before I started my therapy it had been years since i was able to lift weights. My shoulders would ache for at least a week after an upper body workout. I also just didn't have the energy. I thought i was an old man. I guess hormonally i was... My doctor told me that it would almost be impossible to lose weight with low T, so he said that he could increase the dose if I Plateaud. When I asked about my Estrogen levels he said that it didn't matter. He also said that when you lower your estrogen with IA it just raises your T levels. So what are your thoughts on weight loss with high T levels and estrogen.

Your Dr is a fvcking idiot. High Estrogen does matter and causes the same symptoms as low test and then some. You need to get it inside the range ASAP. Also so what is the issue with have higher T levels if your Estrogen is lowered ? I cannot figure that one out for the life of me

I am finding out real fast just how little Doctors know about T therapy. I was concerened about it in the begining but now i am really worried. He doesn't have a problem perscribing the T but the AI treatment he wouldn't do. Can't figure that out for the life of me..
