Can anyone provide some insight into B12 Methylcobalamin and B12 Cyanacobalamin.
Can anyone provide some insight into B12 Methylcobalamin and B12 Cyanacobalamin.
They are virtually the same component and have the same effect to the body, the only difference being that in methylcobalamin the cyanide group is replaced by a methyl group. Cyanacobalamin is easier to produce and thus cheaper and more widespread, but methylcobalamin is more readily stored by the body for prolonged periods of time. Also methycolvalamin, i think, is the active cofactor of B12, and if i recall the body can remove the cyanide group from cyanacobalamin and convert it. I may be mistaken but.
Regardless, they can both be utilized as co-enzymes and other various functions.
However, i would wait for phate, swifto or MuscleScience to confirm.
