Should I discontinue cyp
Hey guys,
I started taking cyp about 3 months ago. I take 100mg per week currently and am hoping the doctor bumps me to 200mg this week. I am currently 6ft 2inches, 201 pounds. (about 16.75 body fat). 5 months ago I was over 258 pounds and hadn't worked out in years, so as you can see I have busted my ass to get in shape.
Long story short I have damaged my arm recently and I can't get the pain to stop. I haven't done curls in over 6 weeks because I wanted it to heal, but nothing I do helps. I am heading to the doctor on Tuesday and am very afraid that he is going to tell me not to lift for at least 6-8 weeks. If he does should I keep taking my cyp. Will it cause me to get fat? I know I need it for TRT, but getting fat would kill me. Also, would I be wasting the cyp.
Sorry about typos. Doing this on the phone. Thanks.

From what I know, I'd have to say no. There's no need to stop the T and no reason it would make you "fat". That said, it *will* make you gain weight, however in the form of more muscle.
You didn't mention your T numbers but you'll want to keep them in check with blood tests, because as your T comes up, at a certain point, without an estrogen blocker, i.e Anti Aromatase or AI your body will begin to convert the excess T in to E and "that" will make you gain fat, and especially water, which will make you even more "puffy". At 100mg weekly you're obviously at less risk of this than at 200 however, everyone is different which is why monitoring your numbers is so important. Next time you test your T levels, also have your doctor check your Estradiol numbers too; that will tell you when and if you need an AI.
On top of that, [and this is where some of you other more informed guys might want to chime in], depending on the cause of your pain, it's possible the T may even help in the healing process. It sounds like the first thing you need to do though, is talk to your doctor and determine the cause of your pain.Last edited by forrest_and_trees; 07-04-2010 at 10:12 AM.

Keep the T, workout around your injury even if its just riding a bike or threadmill. You wil keep losing fat that way and speed up the recovery of your injury.

Agree with the others ... Keep taking your meds. "T" won't make you fat, only food will. As Jim mentioned, just adjust your diet accordingly.
