Test Enth 200mg Once a Month???
I recently went to my family doctor with symptoms I believed to be related to a low testosterone level. When the results came back he said everything checked out normal except my thyroid was low (meaning over producing ??) and my testosterone level was the the very low end of normal. His plan for treatment is one 200mg shot of testosterone enanthate once a month. I was wanting some reassurance that I am not completely off my rocker in saying that this will do little if anything to help my situation if not make it worse. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Sick of feeling this way,

That's pretty crappy and may result in some serious ups and downs with the injections so far apart.

I think most people here on TRT are averaging around 100-200mg/week.

I was started out on 200mg every other week, and by the end of the second week after my shots i was starting to feel shittttty. I could just feel my body going on highs and lows... after talking to my dr he switched it up to 100mg/week... either way im getting 400mg a month, just with a more stable protocol... Im currently sitting happy in the mid 900's

That is the trend that I have seen following threads. The research I have come across says that Cyp would maintain my levels better. I'm a little confused if the problem is what he is using, the frequency or both.

1 shot per month of 200mg is a terrible plan! Half life is around 7 days, so it will be just a wild and woolly roller coaster ride if you do this.

I'm not liking it at all. I felt better for about a week and by two weeks I knew I needed another shot but the GP said once a month. I'm supposed to see him Tuesday. Hopefully it goes better this time.

Tell your doc to join this forum and learn the basics. He is doing you more harm than good. If he won't change then the ball is in your court. Plenty of us have been in your shoes at one point or another, so don't feel alone.

I feel much more confident talking to him after the research a I have done and the helpful opinions everyone has given me. I assume I will get much more help when I can post my test results so I can get some feedback on them.
I'll start another thread when I can post my results.

Make a list, ask him some basic questions and have the documents (not from here but real medical documentation) to support your findings.
How long is the 1/2 life of Test E or C? 7 days? Then WHY would you want to feel Good/OK for 7-10 days out of the month only? Why feel bad for 20+ days? What is his logic?
Ask him if he really has any understanding of HRT and how it should work. If not does he have a referral for you?
I have a visit with my PCP next week on unrelated prescription. He has started being a PITA the last few months/year and I am making it clear that these two I am going to him to talk about are not optional, they have been recommended by specialist and if he is not willing to prescribe them ongoing without having me to come in to see him only to ask me if I really need to continue each month I will find someone who will work with me.
We need to stay in control. It's hard for me to talk to someone that way especially a doctor because we are taught they are here for our good but it's really just a business and they are OUR employees.Last edited by lovbyts; 09-12-2010 at 01:29 AM.

All the info has been quite helpful. I want to stay with my doctor but I have to do what will make ME feel right again. I believe that being prepared going into the visit will help him understand better where I stand and hopefully we can reach some kind of beneficial solution.

Everything is going well 200 mg Cyp eow, 10 mg Nolva ttd, and I'm not sure about the hCG but I don't get it filled till this afternoon. Have my appetite back, able to get good sleep. Thanks for all the help. I will keep you posted.

You're better off splitting the dose and doing 100 mg EW for a more balanced T level.

I was splitting it into every 3.5 days. Is this bad.

As in 50mg, 2x a week?
