    New to this

So I have been feeling really sluggish probably the last year. I mean I sometimes pull into a parking lot to catch a 15 minute nap because I catch my self falling alseep at the wheel. I also have not received any gains or loss any fat from working out and I eat very clean and am in the gym 6 days a week. I have not had any problems in the libido area however. So I went to my doctor the other day and he said he would try me out on test.

So he prescribed me the following
200 mg test cyp once a week
10 mg tamoxifen --Monday-Friday first two weeks and then once the night of the shot after that.

Now my first shot was last Saturday(4/9), so I haven't really noticed any changes yet. How long does it take to start noticing changes? What can i expect from the treatment? Will I gain muscle? He did say that it should help with fat loss? What is this HCG I keep reading about? From what I can tell it basically keeps your nuts from shrinking? Is the dose I am on going to cause my nuts to shrink?

Just basically wanting to get an idea of what I am getting into. Doc drew blood Saturday and said he should get results back by the end of this week and he will adjust prescription from the results.

So any help you all can give me would be appreciated.

That's a pretty healthy TRT dose per week compared to some around here. Usual TRT dose is 100-200mg./week. A few here are above your dose, but not too many. You should begin to feel pretty good within two weeks or so, if t-levels are your problem. I wish I had a doctor as seemingly cooperative as yours. Man...I'm a bit envious.

The test. cyp. has a half-life of around 7 days. Your blood levels rise upward for about 3 days, peak, then begin to decline until your body uses the test. cyp. up. Pinning weekly should keep your levels somewhat constant.

I am 34, 6'0" and weigh 250lbs. I am 19% BF. I carry all of my weight right in the trunk area(have for all my life) I have got a call into him about the HCG . Just awaiting a phone call back. He is a great doctor. He is actually on the stuff himself, works out and regularly monitors his blood work. He is fixing to be one of 10 doctors in the nation going to do a clinical trial on a new hormone treatment plan. Guy is 50 years old and I thought he was in his late 30's.

What are normal test levels. I had blood work done about 2 years ago and I had a number of 542(I don't know what that was) but that was the number out next to testosterone .

You know now that I think of it, he told me it was 1cc per week? Is that 200 mg?

Hey man, did this Doc put you on a TRT without any blood work whatsoever?

    Seriously?

If he's into serious TRT for men he should have put you on hCG as soon as you started.

stats are not bad starting on TRT, but still don't get your doc starting you on TRT without blood work! normal test levels in men is 280-800 according to labcorp. since you are new to this i recommend reading this,

Sounds like you found a great doc! You'll really start to feel a major difference in about 6-8 weeks. If your libido wasn't low befor tell your wife/girlfriend to start stretching out now Good luck!

I really appreciate all of the responses. I am slowly but surely getting through a lot of the threads. Especcially the ones at the top. A lot of it seems to be in medical terms and is hard to understand, but I am trying. A few questions.

I keep my diet in check, but have noticed by body does better when I eat low carbs(under 100g). Will this effect anything?
When do you start noticing the fat loss?
Do you notice an increase in strength and muscle mass? When does this occurr?
Do you keep training the way you were, or do you need to start lifting different?
Can you tell me if I need to discontinue any of my supplemets: Tribulus Testris, Creatine Ethyl Esther, ZMA, Chromium Picolinate, Milti Vitamin, Fish Oil, MACA, Glucosamine, Glutamine, Whey Protein, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, VS-10, Magnesium

I am also really confused about the injections. Is there a thread on how to administer? The nurse gave me my shot Saturday, but my wife will be doing them at home. I have read that one you stick the needle in, you draw back to make sure you are not in a vein. But that nurse did it so fast there was no way she could have drawn back to check. I am certain of the location, the process after that is what has me confused.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

When do you start noticing the fat loss? When your diet is good, and your cardio is good. Throw in strength training and you will get there faster
Do you notice an increase in strength and muscle mass? When does this occurr?see above, but generally if you are doing the right things about week 4-6
Do you keep training the way you were, or do you need to start lifting different?dont know how you were training before, be careful to slowly increase your max's to give supporting muscle and skeletal structure time to strengthen as well
Can you tell me if I need to discontinue any of my supplemets: Tribulus Testris, Creatine Ethyl Esther, ZMA, Chromium Picolinate, Milti Vitamin, Fish Oil, MACA, Glucosamine, Glutamine, Whey Protein, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, VS-10, Magnesiumdrop tribulus, be careful with creatine as your training intensifies, add vit d3, dont know what vs-10 is

I am also really confused about the injections. Is there a thread on how to administer? yes many, and many on the webThe nurse gave me my shot Saturday, but my wife will be doing them at home. I have read that one you stick the needle in, you draw back to make sure you are not in a veincalled aspirating. But that nurse did it so fast there was no way she could have drawn back to checka lot of nurses don't. I am certain of the location, the process after that is what has me confused.

Thanks in advance for the responses.
You're welcome, good luck and work hard to make this a success.

Okay, well the nurse just called me back and said she would call in a prescription for me for the HCG . I assume they will give me directions on how to administer.

Thanks for the answers flatscat. I am also going to post my lab results that I got about a year and a half ago today. Then I will post my lab results from this doctor when I get them.

did they collected your samples before or after your doc gave you the shot? i am assuming before, if so then you are still in good shape with test level, also your e2 is excellent! not sure why the doc decided to put you on TRT, if these were my levels i wouldn't go on TRT! as for the administration, i am sure the nurse will show you how, but this is the video i learned from,

Yes they did take my blood before the shot. These results that I just posted were from a different doctor back in 2009. I have not received the blood work back from the new doctor. I will post those as soon as I get them. Thanks for the video link.

Without ranges these are difficult to interpret...plus they're old anyway.

I hope your MD is running a full endo panel as well as looking at SHBG, Albumin, PSA, Estradoil, Free T and Cortisol just to name a few...

When you post your BW please provide ranges and the guys here will provide you with some keen insight!

based on your complaining symptoms and the fact that you eat clean and exercise often with little fat loss i believe you will notice significant changes to the good within a month possibly sooner...i was similar bf% when i first went on trt at age 37 and it just melted off with NO CHANGE in the workout intensity...the test was just what i needed and hope it is for you as well....well, only change was getting stronger while losing fat/weight at the same time

    keep us posted

I am a little confused as to what HCG does. I know basically it keeps the boys from shrinking, but what else does it do? I did a search and found an article here at steroid .com and it said something at the end about weight gain? Is there a thread that gives more info.

yes, that, and it also aids in keeping another important horomone we need (i believe its progesterone...sure i'll be corrected if wrong or close and be thankful you were prescribed it...me and others have had a hard time obtaining that rx along with our test doses...some seek black market or clinics...i myself WOULD be on it IF i didnt want to be infertile at the moment

    Here ya go man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_c...c_gonadotropin

Interesting perspective for what it's worth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZysfIbGZfE

    You need hCG especially for:

    1. Ever want to re-start
    2. Clear mental thinking
    3. Ever want kids
    4. Production of Pregnenolone...the foundation for all other hormones
    5. Testicles to:
    * Stay healthy and not go into atrophy
    * Keep testes same or about the same size
    * Keep your sack from looking like a 5 year old
    * Sperm production...
    * ...and more

Men have reported to feel much better when hCG is added to their TRT protocol. Also, you get some added natural T production from hCG as well.

    Trust me; you need it.

Just talked to the nurse and she told me that I will put the HCG under my tongue. Is this one way that it is prescribed? I was thinking that it was going to be another injection.

I honestly never heard of that before. It should be an injection. I think oral hCG is not very affective but I could be wrong. I'd ask for injections to be frank.

It is a liquid HCG with a dropper. My usual pharmacy cannot get it so I am going to have to do some searching tomorrow.

I would be very suspicious of a liquid hCG product. All the reading I've done is that it's a scam. I'd like to know who the Pharmacy is and how they are making this stuff (FDA Approved?) with supporting scientific and medical research to prove its efficacy.

If it's a Homeopathic hCG it ain't worth shit. Homeopathy has no scientific basis and no supporting medical studies that prove it's efficacy past the placebo effect.

If it's the shit from College Pharmacy it's crap and a scam.

I don't know how any active serum hCG could make it past the liver to be honest; that's why we ALL inject.

I think you should be very suspect about what your Doc is ordering for you in my opinion. There are things in your post that are concerning not discounting that he put you on a TRT protocol before BW.

I will do some checking on it today. My pharmacy said they could get the injectable. I have the prescription but it does not say who the oral HCG is from. They are probably getting tired of me calling, but I keep finding out more and more on this website so I just call and ask about it.

On a side note....I did back and biceps last night and probably had one of the greatest workouts of my life. I have never been able to work biceps really well, but last night I was lifting weights with perfect form that I have never done before. I always had a tendency to let my shoulder fall forward and over activate the front of the shoulder, but last night I was able to keep strict form and feel an awesome pump in my biceps. I was also more vascular than I typically am. I got chest/triceps tonight and if I can figure out how to minimize my shoulders I am really looking forward to my chest workout today.

I am going to try and do some research on this oral HCG today. Also, what is this HCG diet I keep seeing about when I use a search engine?

some STUPID diet having people use the same hcg that you are seeking and having those dieters consume ONLY 500 calories....AND THE GIVE THE CREDIT TO THE HCG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree, shots are the only way to go, orals can mess with your liver anyway! one thing for sure we all know the shots are the real thing out there!

Thanks in advance for the responses.
x 2 on finding a good doc. The starting dose seems a little high, but can be adjusted depending how you feel. Dont be too concerned on the actual numbers, but how yr body feels/is reacting. Definitely talk with him on the HCG . I'm approaching mid 40's and basically have similar stats to you @ 6 foot, 270, 15-17% BF. I am on 200 mgs per week divided in two doses + HCG 250 units 2 x week + Anastrazole .5 mgs 3 x week.

I dont work well on low carbs so I dont know.
After one year in, I've only dropped about 5% BF, but have significantly increased muscularity.
I would not start training harder until you are at least 6 months in. Your muscle strength will increase much faster than what your tendons can handle. If you push too early, injuries can result. Believe me on this...
I only take Whey Protein, Multi Vitamin, Fish/Flax Seed Oil on a daily basis.

Definitely stay away from Creatine! Your Creatinine Blood levels will go through the roof & tax your kidneys if you supplement while on TRT & working out. Tell your Doc the supplements that you are on.

I limit my amount of supplements as I dont feel the benefits outweigh the possible strain on the liver.

    Good luck...

I did not know that about the creatine. I will definately stop it. What about the tribulus testris?

I do not want to stress the liver more than I have to. I stressed it once while on prohormones. That was a bitch.

I am waiting on the doctor to call me back about the HCG . I am going to go ahead and continue the test, but I need to get this HCG figured out before the boys start shrinking up.

I do my first shot at home tonight. I am nervous, but I think the wife is more nervous. Does it matter when I do it? Before workout? After workout? At bed time? Etc....

I'd drop the trib, I bet it's a bunch of bullshit anyways. You def want the HCG though to maintain the sack & other hormone production within the Testes. Besides, my DOC feels the HCG actually helps to boost Test levels in conjunction with the TRT.

For injections, choose a time that's convenient & stick with it to maintain consistent blood levels. Plus, ask your doctor for an injection tutorial. IMO you shouldnt depend on your wife for this. Why put her in that position?
