Looking for any advice for my other half.

Dont feel 100% confident posting some of this info, but here goes.
My other half is 39 yrs old, around 5'4, and just over 11 stone.
She has been taking anti depressants for around 15 yrs on and off. the last 5 yrs solid. She has had 3 kids, the most recent is 6 yrs old.
Whenever she has been to see a doc about the way she feels they'll just write out a perscription for higher dose or different anti depressants. She has had blood work done on several occassions, but dont know what they tested for.
I'm not a fan of anti depressants at all, and believe they are given out far too easily. I have read quite a few things on here about the effects of low hormones and hormone inbalances, and I suspect that these are most likely the cause of a lot of cases of depression etc.
If she were a man, i'd put her on some test or HCG etc, but she aint, and womens hormones are frightfull things
I would like her to get some proper blod work done to check her hormone levels, as most of the doctors she has seen over the yrs are not the best.
What natural supllements/vitamins etc are the best for a woman in aiding hormone balance? Is Zinc good for women as it is for men? I've heard eating plenty broccolli and cauliflower is good for preventing too much Estrogen etc in men.
When I eventually start taking HGH that I plan on doing, I would maybe like to put her on a low dose too, to help her health and well being etc.
I should add that she is using a birth control 'thingy' that was injected into her arm that lasts for 3 yrs, she's had it just over a year. This too I pressume would make any hormone prob worse.
Any advice about any of this that any of you could give would be much appreciated. Good doctors are so hard to find.

I should add that she is desperate to lose weight. When she starts a diet she'll lose around 4lbs in 1st week then a couple of lb after that, then it'll come to a stop. She goes for long brisk walks with her friend, and theyu both use a exercise machine everyday. She'll eat very little, and keep it low fat etc. Though prob doesn't eat enough nutrients. But the most she can lose will be around 6lb then it'll come to a complete stand still.
Could this too be caused by hormone probs?

Thanks for your help. I've learnt a good bit about a mans hormones from this site, but womens hormones are a whole new ball game and seem to be much more difficult to deal with. I'll get reading now, thanks again.

Great....and so true. We have many more hormones to deal with so much more complicated hence why we might be such? LOL!
