Who here cruises on Test or is on "self-prescribed" TRT? (no docs)

I feel those of us who take the time to read and get educated on this subject, know more than the average Doc - well, we are at least informed enough on this subject to make intelligent personal decisions.

I simply do not have money for health Insurance and Dr visits and over-priced testosterone . I have run my blood work and my Total T and Free T levels are brutally low.

Just want to get soem feedback form those who have been on Test for years w/o Dr supervision.

I know some people in threads have admitted to self-prescribing. You will pay close to the same amount as going through a good clinic that doesn't also sell, and markup, the drugs. The reason for this is it's harder to get illicit drugs, and you pay more for them. My Test runs me about $25/month, purchased from the chain pharmacy.

But here is what I have observed from most people who are not body builders but try to do the self-prescribed route: they do not have the doc limiting their script and they go hog wild! There is something to be said for having a doc who won't let you do 250 mg+/week unless that is what you really need. There is something to be said for a doc who only writes an AI prescription for 0.50 AI twice a week instead of you taking this stuff on your own 0.5 EOD and killing all your estrogen. Ask yourself, is this my personnality type? Do I take a good thing and go to an extreme?

Many people go off script some to find the sweet spot, and this is needed from time to time. But there is the benefit of not being able to go too far when you work with a doc.

And the #1 reason not to go it alone: just receiving steroids in America without a prescription is an offense that can land you in jail! All of these factors have to be considered in your decision.

find the money bro...just as you do for food...if your lowT ...clinic is probably best route for those uninsured as its hard to find a direct doctor-prescription route...theres usually referrals to 2nd and 3rd doctors, several labs, mri...

My insurance pays for itself. My Endo writes my script in 90 day supplies, which costs the same (30 bucks) as if he were to just write it as 30 days. 10/month for TRT plus quarterly visits (another 35 bucks) is worth it. Comes to about 260/year.

If you are going to go the self-prescribed route, then it would be important for you not only to test your baseline test levels, but also your E2, cholesterol, HDL and LDL, and PSA levels, among a few other things. These are tests you want to keep an eye on as you undergo your own TRT plan.
