Went to have my yearly physical today...not with the doctor who is treating my TRT, but with my regular doctor. Should I have told him that I was on testosterone? He is doing a full blood scan on me and I will post the results when i get them. Should be interesting to see what the results are since I took a shot 36 hours before. Then I go back to my other doctor next Thursday and it will be 7 days since a shot, so we can compare the two after I get those back.
Depending on your levels, he may ask you anyway. There really isn't any harm in telling him, but its your preference. Do you go to a clinic for TRT? And if you do, I assume you don't have insurance?
No I go to another doctor who does my TRT. And yes I do have insurance and it is all covered.

is the physical for you or is it ordered by something(job/insurance, etc.) or do you need it to continue prescriptions....

I don't tell anyone unless they are going to prescribe some drug -- antibiotics are not a drug -- to me. My dentist even asks on the form. But I am the type that hates having my personal business in a bunch of databases. I am 100% honest and up front with my TRT doc though. To me that is important, I feel.
I'm right there with you about Dentist and other practioners asking (on forms or whatever). In no way is me being on hormone therapy going to affect a dental procedure. Plus, since anabolics/testosterone is such a debated and is sometimes frowned upon, I tend to keep it "hush, hush" as well.Quote:

I guess the worst case scenario would be if your levels are REALLY high, and this doc takes it upon himself to call your insurance co and throw a wrench in the deal for you. Depends on what kind of guy he is and his thoughts on trt.

I honestly do not think he will say anything. He is a laid back guy and somebody I have known for years. He was not even going to check my test and estrogen, but I asked him to. He said well I need some kind of reason for the test, so I can put it down so insurance will pay. The last time he checked me was probably year and half ago. He never checks it on his own. I have always asked for it.
i tell my primary doctor everything so he can treat me better, why let him guess or wonder what the hell is going on my hormones! i asked my insurance (whom did not cover my TRT) and said going through a clinic for hormone treatment will not violate their terms and conditions. if your insurance is okay with it, and for your own good you would want all your doctors to know.
Well my doctor called today to discuss my results. He said he was a little concerned with my testosterone levels. They were at 1352(LabCorp). He asked if I was taking anything. I just told him ZMA and Trib for now. He said he wants to test me in about 6 months and see if it's went down. I think next time I will just schedule it on the day I am supposed to pin that way it is pretty much out of my system from the week before. I will post all results when I get them in the mail.
