TRT questions from a Rookie

I have been on TRT for a little over a year. I started with androgel and did not get much of a boost. Blood panel came back around two hundred. My Doc sent me to a compounding pharmacy and i have had better luck with increases up to 320. I am currently on a cream compound of 7.5 Mg Test/ 5.0 Mg Progesterone. The pharmacist feels we must battle the side effects of the Test. with the Progesterone. Does this sound right? She wants to do another test to check my hormone levels for a possible increase to improve upon my overall health and libido. Her recommendation is a saliva test instead of my doctors blood test. Is the saliva test the way to go? Are there any pointers on how or when to take the test to make the outcome beneficial for a bump in the creams testosterone level? Thanks everyone in advance. I don't know anyone that is happy with the creams. Inconsistent absorption and other issues just make it...bad. Injections are the way to go. More controllable. Getting your Test up to 320 isn't much of an accomplishment, and you will feel better if you are higher on the scale. Sounds like you are dealing with a doctor that is shooting in the dark. I would see a specialist.

Purely as an example, I am on 200mg/week of Test Cyp plus 800ui HCG to prevent testicular atrophy. All my aches, pains and muscle cramps are gone. My libido is back. I don't make old man noises when I get up off the couch any more. It took about four weeks for my blood levels to come up, and I haven't looked back.

I have no advice on the saliva test. Everyone I know uses blood tests. Accurate and easy.

Yep, you need to learn to stick yourself... creams.... nothing... nothing at all and very expensive... cpy shots... perfect and cheap...

Can I ask how old are you. I'm 39 and my doc put me on 200mg every two weeks and I feel like crap after about 10 days. I asked for 200mg a week but he said no. So I'm looking to for a new doc.

just ask him for 100mg a week, til you get the new doc, tell him if he still thinks the half-life is 14 days he needs to do some reading on the medication he is prescribing.

thats what a 200mg injection looks like on paper. no wonder you feel like shit.

also would like to add, he waits a couple more days to give you that shot, and thats basically castration, run that one by him :chairshot

Best thing ever.

I never tried the cream too many issues around my small kids. I perfer the shots and love the results.

My wife gives me my shots every 4 days. Good idea not to argue before the shot day. LOL

Yeah, JP does the sticking in his house! Same here, by the way. If you can't twist around and reach your ass go into some other muscle/subq area.
