    BW Review Please!

Need quick comments. Doctor appt this afternoon. Got partial results back as follows:

    Chol total: 168 (down 17-maybe calc-d/red rice?) 100-199mg/dl
    Triglicerides: 104. 0-149 scale
    HDL: 34 (remember Crisler 10pt bump so 44?) >39
    LDL: 113 (down 16) 0 - 99

Sensitive Estrogen Assay pending as is Bio T. Apparentely they take a while.

    T4: 5.7 scale 4.5 - 12.0 ug/dl
    T3: 39 24-39%
    Free thyroxine index: 2.2 1.2 - 4.9

    LH: 0.1 1.7 - 8.6
    FSH: <0.2 1.5 - 12.4

    T-Serum: 712 (25hrs+ after gel application. 6 pumps Agel 1.62%)
    Free-direct: 17.3
**5/3/11 on 10 pumps 1%, same test time, was 412 total, 11.3 free**

    DHEA: 134 31 - 701

    Prolactin: 6.7 4.0 - 15.2

    PSA: 1.0 (up from .4)

    IGF-1: 196 87- 238
    IGF-BP3: 4.0 3.4 - 6.8

    Hemoglobin: 16.8 12.5 - 17.0

Any thoughts, comments would be appreciated. Want to have my questions formatted for Doc this afternoon.

    Thanks guys (and girls)!

Better. Remember, this is just a snap shot so the value can move just based on what you eat. Red Rice...yes. Hi Chol can be a sign that you are not converting something down stream.

    Triglicerides: 104. 0-149 scale
    HDL: 34 (remember Crisler 10pt bump so 44?) >39
    LDL: 113 (down 16) 0 - 99
Your Coronary Panels are not ideal but nothing to get overly concerned about for now. If Red Rice was working your LDL would be lower. What as it before this work?

Sensitive Estrogen Assay pending as is Bio T. Apparentely they take a while.

    T4: 5.7 scale 4.5 - 12.0 ug/dl
    T3: 39 24-39%

No TSH? T4 is low should be mid to high range BUT converting to T3 nicely and this is what you'd like to see. Free Thyroxine is normal and nice. No RT3? Taking vit C? Adding Iodine to your diet? Iodized salt? Kelp? Selenium? Take kelp and Selenium and add Iodized salt to your diet.

    LH: 0.1 1.7 - 8.6
    FSH: <0.2 1.5 - 12.4
These panels are a waste of money on a TRT protocol. You are shut down Kel.

    T-Serum: 712 (25hrs+ after gel application. 6 pumps Agel 1.62%)
    Free-direct: 17.3
**5/3/11 on 10 pumps 1%, same test time, was 412 total, 11.3 free**
What's the Free T range? No bio available? SHBG? Albumin? Total at this point is less important then bio available.

    DHEA: 134 31 - 701
    DHEA-S?

    Prolactin: 6.7 4.0 - 15.2

    PSA: 1.0 (up from .4)
Be careful here Kel. Moving a few points is generally accepted but anything at 1 or over you need to get a prostate examine...possibly even a biopse. .4 to 1.0 suggests a potential issue and you can't fool with this under a TRT protocol.

    IGF-1: 196 87- 238
    IGF-BP3: 4.0 3.4 - 6.8
    Good. No need for HGH.

    Hemoglobin: 16.8 12.5 - 17.0

Any thoughts, comments would be appreciated. Want to have my questions formatted for Doc this afternoon.

    Thanks guys (and girls)!

    LDL was 129 before.
    Not taking C or Sel/Kelp.
    Free T range: 7.2 - 24.0
PSA scares me. Already have paperwork to fill out to get scoped.
SHBG, BIO T, Sensitive E all pending via Lab Corp.
    Did not get DHEA-S

    A work in progress, hopefully.

    thanks much GD

Assuming good diet this could all be hereditary.

    Not taking C or Sel/Kelp.
Add Kelp and Selenium daily to your supplement protocol. These two when combined are excellent for Thyroid health and will help to get your panel in the ideal range.

    Free T range: 7.2 - 24.0
    17.3 = Good.

PSA scares me. Already have paperwork to fill out to get scoped.
You're probably fine Kel but you need to find out what caused this jump. How old are you?

SHBG, BIO T, Sensitive E all pending via Lab Corp.
Post when you get them, I will calculate your Free T% and Bio-Available.

    Did not get DHEA-S
Usually on a panel DHEA is DHEA-S.

    A work in progress, hopefully.

    thanks much GD
    Bold above.

    IMO, yes.

Remember, you are introducing Test downstream so the conversion of Cholesterol to Pregnenolone to DHEA upstream will be pretty much shutdown. (That's just one more reason why men need HCG (identical LH) when introducing exogenous Test.) Supplementation with both Pregnenolone and DHEA is highly recommended by many TRT Docs "in the know" and is commonly prescribed as an important component to their protocols.

If they are legitimate posts, I'd love to read them, but damn. All went well at the Doc visit GD. What I pm'd you he agreed with along with a different concentration of gel which could have impacted it. Gonna get scoped and re-test in 3 months. Doc said he's been putting it off himself too. Got script for the preg-dhea-selig combo at the strength you recommended. It's done already at the compounding pharmacy, just gotta get it. Only $65 bucks for months supply which my insurance will cover. As always, the advice is much appreciated.

Now that's what I'm talking about! You got a great Doc! What was his response when you told him you wanted the DHEA/Preg/Seleg? Be interested to know.

Glade your getting scoped Kel. I think what you PM'd me is why it was high...it will do that. You'll be fine.

Good day for you today my friend...very happy for you

This euro is great GD. He gives me a lot more time than the normal doc and does not shut you down when your talking. I go there with all bw and just go through every aspect of it telling him what I think and he responds. He agreed my dhea was low and we spoke about that pathway (chol-preg-dhea). I then told him I would like to compound it at the levels you suggested and he had no problem. He was not up on Selegiline but I explained its benefits at low doses as compared to high dosages (Parkinsons) and he had no problem. Said he's gonna look into that one for himself too.

He gave me a script for some more testing in 3 months and said if there is anything else I want tested, write it in as he trusts my judgement. He actually said he enjoys my visits as he's learning as much about trt by me as I am by him. Stopped at the compounding pharmacy on way home and if I had time to wait (1/2 hr) I could have walked with it. He also gave me a free 1 mo supply of Cialis for daily use until I see if my insurance will cover it. Nice Doc!

You're going to love that 5 mg Cialis Does much more then help your junk...many positive benefits...and wait till you see your pumps in the gym. My Doc is on it now as well. Go to PubMed.com and do some searches on low dose 5m Tadalafil and read. Really good for you!

Well, I started on Saturday and by monday I had very bad anxiety, lethargy, nervousness, otherwise feelings I'm not used to, etc. GD and I have PM'd about it and he had occassion to speak to his pharmacist who recommended cutting the dose down and slowly building up to the recommended dosage. I cut it in half yesterday and all sides are gone. Will stay here for a short while then up to 3/4 dose then full dosage. I will stick with it based on knowledge gained here and from research.

GD said he had some minor sides himself initially but not as bad as mine. Everyone responds differently.

    GD, chime in!

Kel - Your symptoms could very well be because of the Pregnenolone then anything else. It's been a somewhat common report when folks first start Preg and/or DHEA (both Neuro-Hormones!) and especially when the use of transdermal creams are used since the uptake is significantly higher then anything digested. The Selegiline dose of 3 mg is very very low and while it could be a reason for your symptoms it's less likely.

You're doing it correct; lower dose and build up over time and simply let your body acclimate. As you can see from the lower dose now your symptoms subsided add a little more each week till you get to the prescribed dose and you should be fine.

BTW, I also had a little anxiety when I started but it subsided in a couple few weeks.
