coming off trt
my doc wants to take me off trt. ive been using it for 1 year and everything has improved dramatically, i dread the feel of how bad i felt before hand and now he wants to take me off it, slowly taper my reandron (nebido) shots off and go back to nothing and hopefully i have "recovered".
ill listen to him since he's meant to be an expert in sexual health in males but is this guy just screwing me around? my test cant just return to normal healthy ranges and not very low ranges pre trt? if it doesnt work, im off to a new doc

Since your instinct is to listen to him because he is a doctor, why not get a second opinion. PS just make sure to tell them that its your idea to come off after a year and see if you are recovered...the answer will be thats a very bad idea. Then ask another doc and say its your docs idea and his answer may be different see docs protect each other far more than they protect a patients health unless its a very dire outcome.
PS No I do not think your chances of recovery after a year of TRT are very good. You might want to search that on Medline/Pubmed, and see how popular that approach is in the medical industry.

thanks for the comment. i just dont understand how he thinks somehow using synthetic form of testosterone will somehow kick start my natural test. unless he loads me up with hcg ,cloma, nolva and a miracle happens. there are more specific hrt clinics i may have a word with if he discontinues me with it. id love to be off it an healthy again but im not liking my chances of that happening.

Mate,
I seriously have to chuckle on this one. Test levels decrease with age. Whatever the reason for him putting you on test, isn't going away after a year. Probably just get worse. Your system has been suppressed for a year. It's a crap shoot if you will recover.
TRT is for life. I've resigned myself to this. I do not want "normal" test levels for my age. I want my test levels to be optimal for a 21 year old.
I would talk to your doctor about your concerns. Obviously you have them else you would not have posted this thread. Doctors are a dime a dozen. Seriously! If your doctor will not give you the treatment you feel you need, (unless he has some legitimate reasons for you coming off other than to experiment), then shop around and get another doctor. This is YOUR health, mate! NOT your doctors health!!! you should at LEAST have significant input into what treatments you receive.
Good luck!

recovered?? how does one recover from low hormone levels brought on from age/disease .. that is treated with hormone repla***ent therapy??
there's a reason they call it practicing medicine and not curing people..
time to get a different doc..The answer to your every question

Best advise yet, and why not, why have normal test level when you can get so much more, this is exactly what i told my medical doctor, listen buddy you started me on this you are not getting me off, to be honest my medical doctor i think he kind of love putting people on TRT, transform then into super humans hehehe. I got a 6 month run on this, but i really think i will stay on 4 life.

Did he find something else that he thinks was causing your T levels to be low, and did he cure that? If not, nothing has changed except you will have a very difficult time getting your T levels to where they were 1 year ago. Most likely, you will go off T and your levels will plumet and stay low.
Unless you are interested in this, just say no or find a new doc.

Thanks for the help. It really is weird to take me off. Its his idea and he kinda wants to stick with it despite my problems that I've told him. He said something like "since your body is used to these new higher levels hopefully they will remain when youre off naturally and even said I "could " also give you some Cloma...not very convincing." i was quite shocked at how he thinks this will work. Lol just seems so stupid, too bad he doesnt have the logic of you guys.I don't mind trt as long as I feel good minus him refusing hcg for my rasin sized balls
I'll be having a series of blood tests to see my result from this in a few months, I'll post them .
