    Body Growth/Mass Development

I was reading another post where someone suggested that while on TRT, body growth/mass development slows down or even stops based on your genetic build.

What are your thoughts?. Did happen to you?

I admit that I grew a lot mass wise but even though I'm a religious gym rat I have slowed down on growth but now it appears that I'm toning...even losing.

My weight stays same but my waist has dropped an inch in last month.

Do we have a true size?

yup! thats the only way you'll grow!

Big, you reached your max based on your intake and training, to get bigger you simply have to increase food and weights! its cool though you are losing fat and keeping your gains!

I figured as much. It's hard to believe that I once could look at a refrigerator and gain 10 lbs. Now, after 25+ years of being careful with what I eat that I am now having to eat MORE to continue to gain mass rather than fat.

I was more curious as if we had a TRUE genetic size and did TRT and diet exercise get me there. And does growth continue beyond.

    Need to change my regimen

I think we have a true size based on the environment we put our bodies in. (that includes diet, training and hormones)

As far as technology has moved in the last 25 years, you'd think there'd be a mechanism to determine what size you "genetically" should be so that you could set goals for yourself...whether to get to that size, or to get bigger...otherwise you're shooting in the dark. I agree with you flats.

I left out a whole lot of other factors....but in the end there is no technology that can measure the human spirit - or drive and willingness to succeed in this quest.

Are there professionals that have reached or almost reached their genetic limits - of course. But they have optimized everything - and I mean everything for their bodies, for years and have had the drive and willingness to do so.

Other than that - most men have the ability to reach any reasonable goal they want, baring other medical issues.

    Thumbs up

^^^what he said^^^, and said well I might add! Knowledge, skill, ability, desire and genetics. I'll be 54 in a few weeks and still feel like I'm making physical gains. Never give up!

Well I think steroids can push someone beyond there ""normal"" genetic potential. That being said someone with fantastic muscle building genetics (mesomorph) will still far exceed even a heavy steroid consuming extomorph.....IMHO.

From what i've read....Steroids really don't grow muscle.

Roids make it possible to synthesize more protein which is reflected in larger muscles through pump and blood plasma. Steroids (again from what i've read) actually expand your present muscle fibers...but they do not split and grow fibers.

Roids make you stronger through the increase in testosterone .

HGH actually has been tested and known to grow muscle fibers.

You can witness this effect by dumping juice for 6mths and see what's left.

The end result is the actual muscle that you built.
