GD Blood Work Wednesday..Ugh!
I always hate the days leading up to a pull:
1. No Sex/Orgasm for 48 hours
2. No evening cocktail or two
3. 12 Hour Fast (I usually go 24!)
4. ...and oh yea this:
Things could be worse so I guess I should quit my bitchen eh
I'll post results to get your feedback in a few days.

#1 and #3 are the tough ones for me too. My primary is this little Asian female, so #4 is worth the copay in itself-LOL.
Good luck on your results ... I get the feeling they will be optimal, spot-on!

I was really joking cause I thought it was a joke. But in so far as it seems it is not a joke, why would you want to know your levels when you are doing or not doing things you usually do? I know you are not wanting the doc to increase anything... so besides fasting for ldl and hdl, what gives with the other two? Just curious boys. I mean I know levels abstaining from 1 and 2 effect... I am just trying to figure out reasoning...thanks

Wait...what?
Am I supposed to being doing those things before a get blood pulled for TRT? Or are you talking about a larger blood workup?
Actually, I think I do the fast. And I never drink. But no sex for 48 hours? I know I have messed that one up.

Ok, ok...some reasoning (and I was sort of joking fellows):
1. No Sex/Orgasm for 48 hours
I want a true PSA assay as sex/orgasm can artificially inflate the serum level 24/48 hours thereafter.
2. No evening cocktail or two
Liver enzymes can be inflated with even one or two cocktails (in me at least, sensitive I guess) again artificial inflation of the serum level.
3. 12 Hour Fast (I usually go 24!)
Ok, I might not go 24 but closer to 18 hours. No need to explain fasting.
4. ...and oh yea this:
I hate things like fingers and whatnot stuffed up my ass
I do agree Flats, BW is best pulled where a man lives especially Testosterone levels . That's why I go 48 hours after an injection and 24/36 hours after AI.

#4. Explain "whatnot"
-
11-28-2011, 08:15 PM #12
why 2 days after injection? Don't you want right before an injection to show lowest #'s?

#4. Explain "whatnot"
no friggen clue how this double shot occurred!

The term "where a man lives" means just that. Waiting till the last day before injecting would present my assays at the lowest levels they may be during the week. That's not where I live; the best time is where my serum levels are at the top or near of top of the half life curve...in other words where they are at most of the time during the course of a week...that's "where I live".
Docs know when most of thier patients are injecting and have a good sense of where their serum levels should be from the time of their last injection so to a knowledgeable Doc, any day is really ok as long as the man is consistent with his injection protocol.

I found the comment you were talking about, and I am HIGHLY offended. You obviously don't have knots, or have a loved one suffering from this affliction. Until you have a child suffering from AKS, you will never understand.

Hey GD maybe you can educate me, but i dont understand your theory behind fasting a full 24 hours before BW? Readings at this interval wouldnt seem to represent any "real world" numbers to base decisions on would they? I even question 12 hours considering that I'm consuming some 5,000+ calories throughout the day on average. Just curious...

api, copied this...
Some blood tests, such as the tests to measure total cholesterol or blood glucose levels, require you to fast for a set amount of time before the test. Your doctor may ask you to fast anywhere from two to 12 hours before your test. Having foods digesting in your system can affect the results of the test.
Liquids
It is permissible to drink water. In fact, it is important to drink water if you are fasting because you do not want to get dehydrated. Do not add lemon or any flavorings to your water, though. Drink it plain. Avoid other beverages, such as juice, coffee or soft drinks.

Food
Avoid all food during the recommended fasting time. For this reason, doctors usually schedule blood tests that require fasting for early in the morning so that you can stop eating after dinner and avoid food until your test. (If you work a night shift or other non-standard hours, ask your doctor to schedule your test for close to your normal wake-up time.) Do not chew gum, eat breath mints or consume other food substitutes during the fast time.
Medication
Some medications may affect test results. Make sure your doctor is aware of any medications you are currently taking. Follow his directions for maintaining or changing your medication schedule prior to your blood test. Do not stop taking your regular medications unless your doctor tells you to do so.
Herbs, Vitamins and Supplements
Certain herbs, vitamins and supplements can affect blood test results. Let your doctor know about any products you use regularly and follow his advice about taking them or avoiding them during your fasting period. If you have not checked with your doctor, postpone taking your herb, vitamin or supplement until after your blood test to be sure it does not interfere with your results.

So I had my Physical and Pull done at Noon EST today. About 16 hours and nothing to eat and drinking only water. Went to pick up more Oxytocin that I will tell you all my experience with the past few weeks...trust me...it's a good one fellows Then stopped by the house and slammed two protein smoothies...NICE!
Oh, I did have a long discussion with my Doc about testing for AKS since we never tested it when I turned 50 least year.
I have an appointment next week with Laura his 26 year old PA to get the test done...keep you posted as always

1. Ass-knots
The scenario in which one's crack hair becomes one great big sweaty knot, usually provoked by a long day of walking in the heat. The knot will increase in size by every step taken and will be further glued in position by the person's perspiration.
Attempts of ripping or untangling the knot will lead to a long lasting stinging sensation, resulting in a bruised and puckered ass crack.
Prolonged negligence of ass-knots can lead to a seriously painful crack and recent evidence have shown that soldiers worlwide prefer to wax or shave their ass crack and genitals as counter measure to prevent further
ass-knots while on patrol.
