    Insecure.....Help!!

Guys.....I feel so insecure, can this be related to having a very low test level?

Thing is I dont know why I feel insecure. I have a lovely home, a car, a very supportive and loving finacee a fantastic 13 year old daughter, great 5 year old dog.......Why do I feel so low? I keep trying to give myself confidence boosts but nothing is working??

I am yet to start my TRT as have an appointment on the 25th......But I am so so tempted to inject some Test Cyp at say 150mg per week, HCG at 250iu twice per week and take 25mg of Clomid a day to see if it will help.

    good question.
no one can truly answer that. if you feel your mood might be a clue for low test, then it is time to have some blood panels to find out for sure.
but yes, one of the side effects of low test can be depression.
    good luck!

How the heck would anyone know the cause based on some emotions that could in fact be causes by many complex combo of things.

Get a full blood panel done (read stickies) and post results and ranges.

    DO NOT SELF MEDICATE!

you really need to wait to see a doc and get it done properly , i think 150mg ew is considered a 'high' dose , taking clomid would be pointless when taking test as your own system will shut down (clomid is used in re-starts afaik or to stimulate natural production) , what you want to do really shows lack of knowledge and you could do more harm than good.

Might not be low T you need to find the cause of your problem, i experienced a burnout back in 2008, stress accumulation, troubled work environnement, injustice in work environnement and more. Depression strikes when you least experct it, i really tough i was a tuff guy at that time and could handle it but i cracked at some point along the line.

I also had a loving girlfriend and 4 cats and a great salary. There has to be a cause for this feeling.

Wait to see your MD end get a full blood test done. This insecurity can be related to many things and without proper testing i am afraid that no one will be able to answer your question. Good luck

Do you already know you have low t, or is that why you're seeing the doctor? Taking test now will only confuse the issue when you get your bw back. I would hang in there for the 3 weeks so the doc can better make his analysis. Keep us posted.

My low test had major effects on my depression. To the point now I wonder if it was root cause. Like the others I suggest you get your sucks in a row with your Dr and go from there. Make sure you have read everything you can and be educated when you talk to your urologist. It seems most don't prescribe an AI or hcg as part if the protocol. Make sure you have discussion with them.

If you start injections now, and when your appointment comes and he runs test, your levels will come back normal/high, thus preventing treatment. It takes several weeks to feel the effects of TRT anyhow. If your doctor gives you problems, I can give you a referral for a doctor, but they do not take insurance.

In that case yes it can affect your mood. Post the lab results and ranges.

    I wouldn't self medicate though.

I am 40 yrs old and was having the same problems 2 yrs ago. I went to a doctor and had my blood work done. I think they were so low that I could have been officially classified as an 8 yr old girl! LOL! I was also anemic but my LDL's and HDL's wear great. Now the low T level could have been from improper steroid use or possibly a result of weighing 305lbs at 5'8"50%bf and having gastric bypass surgery to lose the weight. Now I am on low levels of test-e to maintain my levels but feel that it made a 110% improvement in my well being. I now work out 4-5 times a week and follow a pretty good diet to maintain my weight and muscle mass. I would love to hear any suggestion of something to add to my test to help me keep my muscle and lose more bf.

This isn't part of your imagination. I lived in insecurity for years and attributed to my small size and large frame. It affects everything about you...down to how you present yourself.

I'm about 4 years into TRT and that insecurity is about gone. It may be in my head but 40 pounds of muscle gain has changed my looks, what I can wear clothing wise....everything. My kids call it swagger.

So yes you may be right. I do, though still take SSRI and will never take the risk of stopping. I don't want to go to that place again.

Can you post your lab results? In addition to this, did they run other labs (LH/FSH, free/bio test, DHEA, E2, TSH/T3/T4, etc.)?

I agree with others, don't medicate before you know for sure what the diagnosis is. Especially if you're trying to get a baseline indication of what the problem might be. If your testosterone is indeed low, then please take a closer look to determine the reason behind it (primary/secondary), and look even closer to rule out that there's no tumors/cysts or other underlying conditions that could be causing this.

My advice like everyone else is WAIT see your doctor then go with HRT if that is the problem, and like everyone else on here that is on HRT I bet we can all say that was one of the "main" symptoms! Once you start HRT and really get into the program you WILL GET YOUR GROOVE BACK!! Hang on its not over by a long shot. If that doctor does not give you the answers you are looking for find one that specializes in HRT / Mens health and I promise you things will get better for you, oh and your wife will LOVE you for it trust me.....lol
