On week 7 of TRT - I have some questions! Appreciate any answers!

I'm on week 7 of my first cycle of Test-Cyp (depo-testosterone ). I had my annual physical 8 weeks ago and while everything was amazing - bodyfat 7%, really low cholesterol panels, etc, I had low T and low hgh. I had asked to run the tests as my libido was starting to be non-existant. Here's my test lab: 214 and 3.7
    Testosterone, Serum 214 L 348-1197 ng/dL
    F Free Testosterone(Direct) 3.7 L 6.8-21.5 pg/mL

I am getting weekly shots of 100mg. I did not feel anything really for at least 4 weeks. Then, maybe something, then, last week, for about 3 days, I felt *amazing* starting about 8 hours after the shot. This week, I got the shot on monday, and I really felt it 8 hours later, but it was not nearly as uplifting as the week before. Here are my questions:

This week for 3 nights after my shot, I had a really hard time sleeping. Does this happen to you?
For 3 days after the shot I felt a lot of energy - this week though, not nearly as positive of an energy - does this make any sense? I guess I'm saying my mood did not elevate like last week.
Since the halflife is supposedly 9-10 days, any thoughts on why I feel it so hard the first 3 days - is this how it will be? I should be at a higher level all week this week than I was the first 3 days of last week. Wondering if that's an issue.
I have an oily taste in my mouth/back of my throat. There is no question in my mind that this is related to the shots. Do you notice this?
Could my lack of great energy this week be related to rising estradiol / estrogen / ?

My libido is great. I definitely feel more energy - would prefer my mood to be uplifted as well.
Last week my workouts were off the charts. My muscles are harder - and I am lifting more. Don't know if this is all in my mind.

I am going to do another blood panel in 2 weeks.

    Thanks for any info!

As J said; test E2 and make sure the assay is for men (Sensitive Assay). If not you will get the Estrogen panel used for women and it's useless.

The hard time sleeping could be a result of a dopamine rush which is not unusual the first couple of months...it will settle down.

Originally my goal was to drive my wife bananas. Still the same. My goal now is simply to maintain. All of my bodyfat appears to be on my waist - would be nice to have it move somewhere else - Hoping the T will help with that. Considering HGH therapy after I see the T results for 6 months or so.

Btw, at night I was also sweating. Will check BP each night and morning.

Read the sticky at the top of the forum on how long things take to change on a TRT protocol as this will go to set some of your expectations...most things don't change over night...but when they do you will like the way you look!

Testosterone will get rid of lot of that extra weight but you need to continue to exercise/train and watch what you eat...Testosterone is not a free pass on either of these two fronts as you well know.

HGH is expensive but from the guys here who use it can't say enough about the results it provides.

Night sweats are common as well.

I have to say, had my shot Monday and I am crashing really hard yesterday/today. Ugh!

Can't really tell you why you feel a certain way or your mood fluctuates so much without blood work.

From what it seems, it's probably not a lack of testosterone . I would wager to say you may have high estradiol but moreover, I think it very well simply could be unrelated to your hormones.

Too often we want to nail down a perfect hormone number but still live sub-par lifestyles. Maybe you have an undiagnosed food allergy, inflammation, neuro issue, etc etc.

Get your testosterone and estradiol to a good range, and stick with it. But beware of thinking testosterone is your end-all be-all solution. Plenty of people with high T still feel bad! lol

At the risk of looking like an imbecile - I scheduled for Monday, would it make a difference if I did the BW today?

^^^ Monday would be fine - normally it's best to draw blood at a valley in the test level (just before the next dose), but some guys like to see a mid-level number. As long as you are consistent, both have value.

7% bodyfat is impressive. Are you working towards an event, such as a photoshoot?

As for the estradiol, it would be strange if you're converting on such a low dose AND with low bodyfat. Everything I've read suggests that aromatase is more prevalent with a higher bodyfat composition. I would also think your libido would be impacted at a too-high level, but I guess anything is possible.

How low is your cholesterol? My understanding is that you need an adequate amount for crucial bodily functions and to produce important hormones, including androgens, estrogens and Vitamin D. Lack of energy can be associated with low DHEA and Vitamin D levels. My Dr. recently had those 2 checked after I complained about still being tired while on TRT.

If your goal is "to drive my wife bananas", try adding Pycnogenol and L-Arginine to the mix if you haven't already. When I took 50-100mg and 5g every day for a month, the nitric oxide action was unreal.

I just work out 6 days and eat right. No events in my future! I bounce between 6 and 9% over the year. My cholesterol is healthy normal.

Everything I speculated on is just a guess. I have no idea how long it takes for e2 to elevate, etc. So I am just throwing it all out there looking for answers.

I am going to do bw on monday and get another shot. I think I need to split the shots up. I'm on 100mg.

After not getting much sleep the first 3 nights, I have been on a long slow crash since thursday - quite a ride.

Today I could barely get out of bed.
