New Labs please take a look
Just got some new labs. Been on the Testim gel 1.5 tubes per day for over a year. I absorb well, so this works.
AM draw
Total T :719 (348-1197)
% free : 2.6 (1.5 - 3.2)
Free Serum 187 (52 - 280)
SHGB 22 (20 - 60)
TSH 2.320 (.450 - 4.500)
Estradiol 30.1 (7.6 - 42.6)
B12 - 580 (211 - 946)
Ferritin 75 (30 - 400)
Cortisol 29.9 (2.3 - 19.4)
Don't like the cortisol number. Any suggestions on that? And does the TSH look ok?
Thanks
Bill

yeah, all looks good, regarding cortisol, no dont like that either, dont remember mine but it was upper end. My Doc insisted it was all the coffee/cafienne and energy drinks I was consuming. She said this wrecks hovoc on the adrenel sytem and increases cortisol. Duuno if u fall into that routine?

wonder what can be done medically if cortisol is out of whack

cortisol can fluctuate drastically throughout the day, to get accurate reading you need to do the AM/PM test. but everything else looks great!

U sure? How did you measure that? I think his E is high.
She is absolutely right.
That garbage will release adrenaline and cortisol, suppress your LH, and make u fight harder to stay anabolic . Have your morning coffee, but cut the rest. Start up on 2mg Vit C ED and check your Cortisol again in 1 month.

Estradiol 30.1 (7.6 - 42.6) - Was this a "sensitive" assay.
And I agree with Flier; this is a bit high if 42.6 is the top of the reference range.
Don't worry so much about Cortisol; it could be high just because you knew you were going to get stuck with a needle for your pull. Many things can elevate this level...

Thanks all. I feel good, but have been a bit stressed lately. Also drinking too much coffee, will cut that back. Estro test was not sensitive test. Normally take .25mg anastrozole every 3 days.

i look at both figures separately
they both looked good imo
and feel symptoms equally important
the numbers of e2 has been a hot debate and thought we had that narrowed down to it was more of an individual range
i know your saying there are several tests/ranges but this particular one he was well in range...are you saying if he was to a do a sensitive assay he would be out of range high or closer to the top well we'd have to see..
op states he feels good..up to him if he wants to pursue a better estro test

Bill, labs looks pretty good. Do you have some previous labs that you can compare with these current labs? If so, any drastic changes? E2 about the same +/- a few points? Definitely take a look at the sensitive assay for E2 next time you run BW (if possible), I would be curious how it stacks with the standard test that you took.
Review the cortisol a little further with your doctor. Sometimes it can be just as simple as overdoing it at the gym before your BW, and/or some unwanted stress, like wondering if Yannick is going to return or not. Although your TSH looks pretty good, look into getting the T3 and T4 labs added to get a true picture of what's taking place with the thyroid. In some cases the thyroid will have an impact on cortisol levels ... I don't think this is your situation, but it's good to rule everything out if possible.

It's measured.
FAI = Ratio of T to SHBG = % free
