    Blood Test Results

Hey everyone I have some questions about my blood test, I am a 32 year old male, I workout 5-6 times a week and am active duty military. Since my last deployment I have had a loss of a sex drive and am very tired throught the day so I decided to visit the dr. I was diagonosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea which my Dr says why my testosterone levels may be on the low end of the scale, and didnt want to go into further testing untill i start my treatment for sleep apnea. I just wanted a second opinon as I read through this whole forum when I first got my results.. most people say you should be in the upper 2/3 of the scale. Anway here are the results, thanks for the help.

    Testosterone 352 ng/dl scale 250-1100
    Free Test 61.5 ng/dl scale 46-224
    Free Test + Weakly Bound 129.1 ng/dl scale 110-575
    Albumin 4.6 gm/dl scale 3.6-5.1
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin 22 nmo/L scale 10-50

    Welcome to the forum

i dont think we've ever followed thru with how much sleep or lack thereof can effect t levels

i would think that fixing your sleep could bring you midrange just guessing but like i said i havent seen any talk of that nature

whats your treatment for the sleep apnea entail...arent you going to start immediately?

best of luck...would love it if you kept THIS THREAD alive with updates...so hope this is legit...sorry being a "steroid " forum we get a few trolls and basket cases

    Thanks JP

Sure would love to keep everyone updated.... I have read a lot of great info here thats why I decided to post my concerns here...

Sleep Apnea ill probably get a PAP machine (wear a mask to force air down your throat) I have to go and do another sleep study where they will set the amount of air the machine puts out. Probably take a few weeks to get this done.

There are a few other treatments, one is surgery in your throat to remove obstructions, or a dental guard that allows your airways to be opened up more. Right now I am deciding the best route as far as being deployable goes.

Definitely get the sleep apnea sorted out first and give it some time. I started TRT recently, similar age and test levels, but I got a new doctor, and I have a sleep study tomorrow night, also looking at other things that are causing my Hashimoto's disease. Doctor wants to look at all the things that could be causing my low testosterone , and hopefully get me off of hormone repla***ent once they are sorted out. I didn't know anything about half of the stuff that could be corrected to improve test levels. I will be curious and watch this thread as well.

There is a definitive link between sleep apnea and low testosterone levels , so should be a good place to start. As with recent threads started here you should have vitamin d level checked as well. I don't know if this works but there is a study on playing the didjeridu( that Australian aboriginal instrument) and decrease on snoring and sleep apnea. I guess it works by using the circular breathing method. If it works I'm guessing it would be better than having something strapped to your face all night.

As stated baja, tnx for your 14 yrs! One of the side effects of TRT is increase or worsening of sleep apnea so you are definetly gonna want to get to the bottom of this.

Hey guys, checking back in. After wearing the CPAP for two months I had my blood tested again. I am feeling a little more energetic during the day, but not as much as I would like. Here were my original results along with the latest results. I am going back to talk to the DR shortly to see whats up. She told me I fell in the normal ranges, but I let her I know I wasnt going to accept being in the low 300's, when I should be almost twice that.

    Testosterone 333 ng/dl scale 250-1100
    Free Test 70.5 ng/dl scale 46-224
    Free Test + Weakly Bound 161.1 ng/dl scale 110-575
    Albumin 5.0 gm/dl scale 3.6-5.1
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin 15 nmo/L scale 10-50

    Before CPAP

    Testosterone 352 ng/dl scale 250-1100
    Free Test 61.5 ng/dl scale 46-224
    Free Test + Weakly Bound 129.1 ng/dl scale 110-575
    Albumin 4.6 gm/dl scale 3.6-5.1
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin 22 nmo/L scale 10-50
