TRT causes Cancer?
There is a show on Spike TV on Thursday nights called MMA Unleashed. Last night they did a piece on TRT because there are a lot of fighter that are on TRT now. Well the doctor they had on their show says that one of the consequences of TRT use is that it causes Cancer.
This is total bullshit right?

100% bullshit! Testosterone does NOT cause cancer, it only makes it more aggressive if the cancer already exists. i truly believe men who are deficient with test have higher risk of getting cancer. if you are healthy then TRT may prevent you from getting cancer which otherwise you could have without it, and will prevent you from dieing prematurely! there are far more REAL studies showing that TRT is more beneficial than not. OTC pain killers are far more dangerous than any steroid when used correctly. the problem with anti steroids crowed is they confuse steroid use with steroids abuse!

Thanks for the input.
I figured this was the case. The media is so anti-steroid , but they don't realize there are 2 types of "steroid" users: 1. The guy that take 100-200mg a week of test for health reasons and then you have... 2. The guy that take 400mg of Test, 400mg of Deca , Some Finaplix , Some winstrol and some other shit to get huge.

Agree. There's use and then there's abuse. TRT is giving your body the testosterone it used to make on its own. Can't be anything unhealthy about that.

life causes cancer.
furthermore, do not get your medical advice from cable tv. that really needs to be planted firmly into your brain.

As far as liver effects, use of the oral anabolic steroids has been reported to cause liver dysfunction and cancer. These reports are primarily in individuals with a preexisting condition treated for extended periods. The intramuscular injections and transdermal preparations do not appear to be associated with liver problems, and routine monitoring is therefore unnecessary. In the thousands of patients I have treated with testosterone , I never even think about liver problems being a contraindication, because they just do not come up
Dr. Michael Scally is a well-known expert on men’s health in general, and specifically he’s an expert on hormone therapy and issues surrounding testosterone repla***ent.

The effect on the liver is secondary to methylation of an anabolic ie dianobol, methyl test. Injectable testosterone has negligible effects on the liver since it is not methylated and not subject to 1st pass metabolism.

Everyman if he lives long enough will get prostate cancer. The reason why they say test causes cancer is bc as we get older our natty test naturally decreases , when u introduce trt to ones body it can add fuel to the fire that silently burns in all of us. That fire is prostate cancer. Although its a possibility its nothing to worry about bc like my oncologist and eurolgist told me we all will get it anyway if we live long enough. So total bullshit, no... sensationalized yes

^^^^ Agreed we will all get it, but lets not overlook common sense, PSA testing and DRE, if and when we do get it TRT will clearly (as you said) add fuel to the fire. Personally wouldnt avoid TRT because of P cancer but it makes sense to keep a close eye on it.

How often should we do PSA and DRE after starting TRT?

What bass said is 100% accurate. It is an old studies that this doctor was going off. The new research shows what bass pointed out. It will take the medical community awhile to get this info and run with it.
