HYPOTHYROIDISM and BODYBUILDING
Hey guys, i started a post in the nutrition sec. but was told to move over here...not trying to double post or any bs like that. i'll tell you a bit about me and then what my question is...
Age: 25
height: 170cm or 5'7"
weight: 160lbs or 72kg
experience: on and off (mostly off) for 3 years, more so in the last year...solid 6 month
Knowledge: unspoiled...ready to learn
goals: 200lbs and strong as fvck
about 2-3 years ago i was excited to move up from 125lbs slowly to 130...and 135..finally climbing to 160 as of today...it's been really hard because of lack of knowledge and motivation... things have changed and im taking more controll of the situation. i've always been puny, but strong upper body. very active but just a small kid. since birth i had an inactive thyroid and take 0.05mg Elthroxine. same script since i could swallow a pill. recently i learned there is a connection between thyroid and test levels to some degree...
so whats the question... How does my thyroid affect my ability to grow, train, supplement, diet and such...will my free t3's and free t4's and tsh level be effected by steroids ? basically if anyone has knowledge of the topic, anything helps...
cheers guys, hope its a good question

well you shouldn't be considering steroids without a lot of time under your belt in the training and nutrition department. We don't really know what to say to help you, don't know what your hormone levels are like. Some people who have thyroid issues and slightly low testosterone and fix the thryoid problems testosterone problems are fixed as well, and testosterone can effect your thyroid levels also. Usually hypothyroidism results in excess weight and can be a factor in obesity. Maybe your medication is too strong? what do your t3 and t4 levels look like. We really don't know enough to help you out.

Thanks a lot ! Im sure you will understand that this is a leaning tool for me and a complete lifestyle change... I dont intend on using any steroids now, but I intend on learning as much as I can which should take years as well. I started off in the wrong direction and now have taken the necessary steps to b responsible. I already used steroids and wish i had learned tese things before. Hindsight is always 20/20 and i now know steroids are not a joke or an easy way out..I hope i dont sound to eager, but i want to know as much about my limitations, conditions and health risks as possible. For future knowledge and knowledge of what I may have already done to my self..Thanks for the concern, and I appreciate that the community here does not endorse steroid use as a game and that everyone takes this stuff very seriously! I'll try some personal research and speak with my doctor about blood work records. Thanks. Any more advice is appreciated!

Hey Joe,
125-160 thats a good increase, stick with it and youll reach your goal of 200!
Bed, work, kitchen, gym, thats a good recipe for a hard gainer such as yourself
I have very little knowledge on thyroid issues, but everything tells me that hypo usually makes people gain weight easier, HYPER makes it hard to keep on weight. I wouldnt think hypo would hinder gains in the gym, but I have no idea really and if someone is gonna search google for it, might as well be you Sounds like you need to hook up with a good doc as your situation is unique.
Not sure if your hinting towards full time trt or cycling, I know you were referred to this section, but im sure this question in the steriod forum would get attention... its a good question for more than one section!
