How long will I live?
Since this forum is about "anti-aging" amongst other things, I found (thanks to Dr. Scally) an interesting calculator
for estimating how long you will live:
http://gosset.wharton.upenn.edu/mort.../CalcForm.html
It pegged me at 90 so can't complain.

82 years. but i adhere to the principals of Life Extension. resveratrol, hormone repla***ent therapy, all of it. I would be very disappointed if only 82. so much for calculators that use statistical averages.
i even have huge issues with BMI charts. those charts say i am "obese". yet 15% bf. and very low blood pressure
go figure

83 and I would be disappointed with that if it were the case. multiple grandparents and great grandparents of mine all lived past 90, my grandfather is in his 80s and perfectly healthy.

Interesting analysis results it gave me:
It says that if I had 2-3 drinks per day that I would live longer - pop culture pseudo-science hooey.
It also says that I would live longer if I didn't have a sexual partner.
I said I sleep eight hours a day. It says I will live longer if I sleep 7 hours a day.
My guess is this is based on a bunch of studies that show correlation between things, but not causation.Last edited by JohnnyVegas; 03-29-2012 at 04:16 PM.

Reminds me of any study that tries to correlate epidemiological testosterone levels with any effect. For example, men with higher test levels live longer mostly because they are more healthy, which may be why they have higher test levels, and so forth.
But, like you say, still interesting.

Mine was 85.06! Funny thing is when I lowered only my weight (from 210 to 170) my life expectancy went DOWN! When I put in additional improvements in various other catgories my life expectancy always decreased. I put zero faith in this program.

I think the best you can hope for is to live life to the fullest and healthiest possible until the last few months. Both my parents had a long drawn out decline in their health before passing on and I do NOT want my final years to be like theirs.

I love these silly tests! ...my results:
Life Expectancy: 91.83 years
Lower Quartile: 85.26 years (75% chance you will live longer than this)
Median Lifetime: 93.63 years (50% chance you will live longer than this)
Upper Quartile: 100.65 years (25% chance you will live longer than this)
If you do not smoke, your life expectancy would be 1.21 years longer
If you have 2-3 drinks per day, your life expectancy would be -0.40 years longer
If you do not drive, your life expectancy would be 0.05 years longer
If you do not have any stress listed in the table, your life expectancy would be 0.06 years longer
If you become a conditioning exercizer, your life expectancy would be 0.50 years longer
Consuming all 5 classes of food everyday has maximized your life expectancy
If you do not have any sexual partner, your life expectancy would be 0.02 years longer <---- WHAT?! SERIOUSLY? lol
Having between 7 and 8 hours of sleep a day has maximized your life expectancy
If all of the above choices are adopted, your life expectancy would be 1.57 years longer

Hmmmn. Where's the breakdown on quality of life? I could get hit by a bus tomorrow and be drooling all over myself in a home somewhere for 39+ years. Or the old man that danced alone in One Flew Over the Coocoo's nest.
Life Expectancy: 83.85 years
Lower Quartile: 75.85 years (75% chance you will live longer than this)
Median Lifetime: 85.56 years (50% chance you will live longer than this)
Upper Quartile: 93.21 years (25% chance you will live longer than this)
