Switch from gel to shots
Went to see my Endo yesterday for the results from my blood draw. I was on four pumps of Androgel 1.62% and my test came back at 147. So she is switching me to test c injections.
She is prescribing me 200 mg ( one injection) every two weeks. I am worried about fluctuations in levels having to wait two weeks to inject. Has anyone had good results on this sort of protocol? Am I better to ask for weekly? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yeah...4 pumps of the 1.62% should get you much higher than it did. Good move in switching to injections. I did 200mg. every three weeks and somewhat less every two weeks. You do notice the fall-off in levels after about day 7. I'd ask if you can inject weekly...I think she'd say yes. Consider twice weekly on your own and maybe sub-q. She may not go for that, but your levels will be relatively constant.

you'd be beter off weekly yes
but your already better off, imo
are u saying you have to go in for shots EVERY 2 WEEKS?????????????????????????????????????????????
if your injecting at home this is a moot point, no?

Agree with above guys. As jpk stated, if your self injecting then alter to suit, 100mg every week, or break it down further when you get more confortable with your injection protocol.

weekly would probably make you feel better than biweekly.
TRT is primarily a "feel better" therapy for most people after all.

If your doing it at home break it down. Most are injecting 2x per week.

I tried androderm and it was garbage.. Injections are the way to go. If your lean, injecting with a 25 g 1 in needle on the delts is painless and leaves no scars if you take your time.. ive been doing it for 3 weeks and still havent had any pain nor disconfort. I already inject insulin for life so injecting test for life doesnt really both me.. keep in mind i have a needle phobia haha

I was actually going to comment on this...
first of all, I do not believe most are injecting twice per week. it's a relatively new thing in HRT and quite frankly, most doctors are not even on the weekly protocol yet. however, there is a lot of talk on forums about twice a week and subcutaneous. but I do not believe this means it is the norm. it's important to remember that people on these forums are not average nor typical. the average person sees their basic primary doc, gets t from injects or gel and the only relevant labwork they get is a PSA and a total t. that's about all the drug reps figure they need to bother the docs with when telling them to hand out Rx for testim and androgel .
lastly, expert dr crisler does NOT at all like the idea of twice weekly IM injections. he states that over the course of the lifetime this is a lot of trauma to the muscle tissue. keep in mind if you're 40 and on TRT then you can bank on living about 35 more years... so that's a lot of holes.

I spoke to a national hrt / aa chain today to gather some info. The guy on the phone was really knowledgeable. He was really up on my twice weekly injections, which he thought had a good chance of removing the need for an a.i., over the long haul based on his experience.
Twice weekly seems like it will become the norm if they don't figure out a better delivery system than these oil based esters.

So what happens if you're 25 and have Chrons disease and need TRT twice weekly injections for life? I feel no pain injecting my Quads twice a week and I am so much better off since I started 200mg a week of Testosterone , my intestinal pain has gone from a scale of 8/10 to 2/10!!!!
Amazing anti inflammatory properties this testosterone has.

Thanks for the feedback. I will talk to her about weekly injections. I did find it strange that when I asked her about the need for an AI, I was told not until my body fat decreases. I don't consider myself obese by any means (6 foot, 230) as I have been lifting since I was fourteen. I do have 10 - 20 lbs I would like to lose though ( with beach season approaching).
I thought that it should be even more important to that an AI if you are carrying a few "extra" pounds.

that is true... aromatase is highest in fat. so the fatter you are the more you will aromatize, relatively.
but like I always say... the doctor who knows about male hormone repla***ent is the exception and not the rule.
