Weight loss after double red cell donation?

I have been stuck in a weight range for quite some time now. The day before my double red donation I was at 201. I took it easy after donation and the next day did a little work at mother in laws nothing strenous just some drywall stuff. I only did cardio twice this week, lifted minimally the other 2 days. I got on the scale yesterday (same one) 6 days after donation and I'm down to 190. My diet does not vary much, low carb, low fat high protien. I did have some box cereal one day that was definitely not low carb, frosted mini wheats, man I forgot how good sugar tastes. Could it be the double red donation?

Id guess that maybe you didnt drink enough water after you gave, your body needs a lot while replenishing your blood supply. Probably just lost some water weight.

well the lost blood probably didn't weigh 6 pounds... but there are just so many variables at play here I don't think anyone could tell you

It isn't from that, and it surely has nothing to do with water weight (since they return all the plasma and platelets, only keeping the RBCs).
I just gave double RBCs this week. My bizarre experience was that my main arterial BP stayed the same, because my systolic rose 10 pts and my diastolic dropped 10 pts. I would have expected both to drop dramatically right after, but I guess the adrenaline increase (even though I'm fine around needles and was fully relaxed) had my heart pumping harder.

Probably water weight from doing the work around the house etc. blood donation probably could contribute somewhat to it. but you'll be back to normal within the week.

11 pounds in 6 days! damn do you need help? LOL. i don't think donating had anything to do with it, could it be your scale maybe just by coincidence is malfunctioning. how about your waist size , is it still the same? I should ask my mother in low if she needs help

Lol, no help needed Bass. It's funny because I have been stuck between 194-199 for months now. I know I've been leaning out because my wedding ring falls off when I wash my hands and my waist size went from a solid 38 to almost a 34 over a 2 year period. I know I shouldn't concentrate on scale weight but it just seems so frustrating sometimes with the dieting and gym routine. Hell I even did 2 weeks of albuterol took two weeks off and did 2 more weeks and the scale didn't move much. But as noted before, the loose pants and ring are tell tale signs of leaning out. I guess I finally broke a bit of a weight plateau. Don't think it's the scale either,it's a dr type scale and I always make sure it zero's out. Bonaparte, my BP always goes up around IV needles,I'm ok with IM needles but any kind of IV needle freaks me out. When I was in high school a friend of mines older brother was a crank junkie and we watched them one night and it freaked me out. I had nightmares about that night for quite some time. My friend ended up going down that road and died of AIDS from sharing needles when he was 25.

Ah, forgot about that detail on double rbc donation vs. giving whole blood. Thanks!
