    Lexapro sex drive and trt

    Hey guys,

I am currently on a wellness program, currently taking 300mg of test a week...

Ironically enough my sex drive/libido sucks..i have experimented with various doses of anti e and have had 0 success,I am do for blood work in the upcoming week...

My doctor has prescribed me lexapro, for depression/anxiety reasons and I been reading up on the side effects, today is my second dose and I am thinking of asking him to switch me to something a lot more libido friendly,If any of you guys take lexapro or have taken it can share your experience, and or recommend a drug that has had positive influence on libido,i could then talk it over with my doctor and see if this is something he thinks is a better option as per my own specific needs

    always appreciate your help

I could be way off but from what I have read. It will take a few weeks for the test to kick in. And you said it was your second pin coming up?

No I have been on wellness program for a few years,my blood panel is scheduled for next week...

With 300 mg of test, its hard to believe myself my libido is in the dirt,I was better in my 6th week of pct this past February,I was able to have sex 3 times a night, now on the test,i go one and done

I do come off trt for 3 or 4 months every year if your wondering why I am pct on trt...

I have only taken 2 doses of lexapro ...

All anti-depressants take a while to build up in your system and could take anything from a month to 3 months and even then there is no guarantee it will have any effect, then your prescribed another anti-depressant to see if that will work, I went through this for 3 years with no result, no anti-depressant will boost your libido but there but there are ant-depressants that will not diminish it.

Surprised your not experiencing the beneficial effects of the test other then increased libido.

    Best of luck with it.

    Thank You..

i am surprised as well,I noticed this problem last year toward the end of my eighth month, decreased libido on testosterone repla***ent...

i seem to run best when my own system is running full speed, problem is waiting a year for it to return isn't really an option...

what anti depressant will have the least impact on it?

Are the chemicals in the brain just as responsible for sexual desire hormones?

Its just dawned on me seeing as anti-depressants reduce libido.

Tony if it makes you feel better Iv had zero libido for the best 12 years, TRT fixed it for about a month, now I'm thinking I need to get a full MRI on my brain and pitutarity gland

I can't remember the specific medication but your doctor will, there's two different family's of anti-depressants that work in different ways and its one of them that doesn't mess with your libido, just google it.

    Interesting thread...I have questions.

300mg of Testosterone a week is way (IMO) to much...it's out of the norm for most men looking to bring back youthful levels of Testosterone .

OP, can you please post your most recent BW complete with ranges? That would be a good start.

I am very interested in knowing E2 (sensitive) assay.

There are some things that can help with libido like hCG and Cabergoline (which I just started and it works well as a Dopamine agonist).

Testosterone is not all things libido and sex drive. For guys first starting on a TRT protocol will feel a great surge in libido but it's mostly do to the rush in Dopamine production. In time, it settles down and so does the libido and sex drive.

Libido is way more complicated than just minimizing it to just Testosterone levels ...

Post your BW and let's take it from there...

I was taking .5 cabergoline for about 2 months upped it to .75 at first it seemed to make me think very clear, also was in a great mood...I did not notice any increased libido...

after about the second week starting the test,i kicked it off with prop,my libido was strong...after 4th week or so its back in the dirt,I did start mixing in the Enanthate with prop to let it build up a bit...

I think my body just adapts to it and shgb levels render test useless....I'm a bit discouraged,my libido was off the chart before I touched testosterone...I started when I was 33yo

I will post results when i get the test done...

    Thanks bro

As noted by GD, test isn't the only variable involved when talking libido. Got a funny feeling about E2 being a factor here, but let's see the labs ...

I will post results when i get the test done... - That's truly what we need. We can speculate all day, but BW doesn't lie.

    Thanks bro

It probably is a estrogen conversion problem. I pinned 400mgs of test and didnot have libido change. On a side not , Welbutrin will have a postive affect on Mr. Happy.
