what labs do i ask for?

I have been on hrt for three straight yrs. 1 cc of test cyp a week on estrogen blocker as needed.my hx is I was diagnosed with testicular ca and they removed right testis. T level bottomed at 214. Zero medical problems since then. I have a follow up with dr and I need a list of lab work as I want to get into shape again. Any ideas? T level, estrogen level, ???

Take a look in the Finding A TRT Physician Sticky at the top of the forum. Bloodwork is there. Consider adding vitamin D to that list also. Most people run low so get that baseline. D plays a part in all of this and will even impact your T level. Matter of fact, read all the stickies if you have time. Great info there!

    Stick around!

I am kinda lost about what you are asking? You say after your testicle was removed you have been on 1cc of test cyp a wk and have been fine since. Then you follow by saying you have an appointment with a DR and want to get lab work to get back in shape? Hopefully whoever has been giving you test for the last 3 yrs has been doing lab work to monitor your levels? and in addition if you are switching to a new Doc for whatever reason I am pretty sure he will want to direct you in what labs to get.

However to answer your question, a group of tests generally known as a "male hormone panel" will be the absolute minimum a new physician will want to see before assessing your TRT needs. But as said your new doc will probably want to tell you which tests to get and may frown on you making decisions on your own and bringing in unrequested labwork (unless its copies of tests that were requested by your last doctor).

    Good luck,

I am seeing same dr. He has never even required a T level because of the cancer diagnoses. I have asked for that to see where it was. He has always left it up to me as far as how much I take a week to suit my liking. He knows I won't abuse it. I just want a complete male hormone check after dealing with this for three years now. I will check the above. Thanks guys

Coop, definitely review the sticky that Kelkel suggested, then see if you can't get the doc to run those labs. Once you get the labs back, post it up, and then we can talk more about the plan of attack that you need.

In the meantime, make sure you are on track with your diet, and that you are getting in the mode of some sort of exercise regiment. The best plan is to make a plan. Write down your current status, then write down what your realistic goal will be. What are your current stats if I may ask?
