Hi Guys
Hi not sure if ive posted before but i have low test levels for a 22 year old,
i have done 4 blood tests and check my thyroids and cholestorol levels as well,
and my test is slowly dropping, at last check its 13 out of 30. and my thyroids are half of what they are meant to be, ( cant remember the range)
what would you guys suggest i do? im seeing an endocronologist to get this sorted but he isnt sure whats causing it.
would you guys recommend i wait a bit longer and see if he can find the problem? or could you recommend someone as i live in melbourne australia,
my other alternative is to try and fix it myself, i was thinking of using equipose/ test cyp at a low dosage and see how i go after that, but i would rather a doctor or someone with alot more knowledge directs me.
thanks

First, welcome! Next, don't self medicate. You need to get to the root of the problem. You need to have complete bloodwork done and post it here with ranges. Particularly interested in LH, FSH and thyroid panels. Don't just tell us they are bad, post with ranges. That way we can take a good look and you can get a variety of opinions that may help you. If you don't have a copy call the doc's office and get one. It's yours.
Levels dropping like yours at 22 years old may indicate a pituitary issue (secondary hypogonadal) or testicular problem (primary hypogonadal.) We just don't know until we see bloodwork. An MRI may also be needed to help here. We need to determine what your are to help you with your path forward. Have you suffered any testicular trauma out of curiousity?
As stated, don't self medicate. You may make your problem worse and not better. There are other alternatives that you can try before jumping into TRT at such a young age.
Post BW up and good luck! Stick around!

Exactly what you should be doing and your endo will run tests.
Like kel said; post your appointment results including tests and results...you will get help here.

thanks for the replies, ill wait and see what futher tests show.
Have you suffered any testicular trauma out of curiousity? not that i know of, however, ever since i was 19 i have been getting random pains in my testies, i could be sitting at home, driving, or during a set, and it feels like someone has kicked me in them.
i have had them checked but everything shows fine?
once i go in on wed and get the latest bloods i will post them.
my only problem with my endo is he is young, and im not trying to let that in on my judgement, but he even said he hasnt had much exp with someone my age.
with the mri what would i be looking at getting scanned?
the only thing i can think of that i have done to effect my test, i have been tight with calories for about 9 months or so trying to get leaner than i usually am.

If you LH/FSH shows lower than normal levels there is always a possibility of a pituitary tumor (microadenoma.) So, they would have to run an MRI on your brain as the pituitary sits just below it. Don't fall out of your chair, I have one and so do a good amount of other people. So, if you have low LH/FSH and low testosterone it's possibly pituitary related and your secondary hypogonadal. If you have high LH/FSH and low testosterone you may be primary hypo which is testical related. Be sure you mention your testical pain to him.
I'd also be happy to have a younger endo. Hopefully he's modern and not set in his ways and dismissive like so many docs can be. Study up before you go in and be prepared to ask questions. You are in charge of your health and the endo is there to help you.

Nice find kel.
Covertrking, please read the link and understand it; make sure to tell your endo that at your age these tumors are more common reason for low testosterone and the symptoms you present. You need to eliminate pathology and this is an excellent place to start.
Work with your endo and make sure he's open to your input and suggestions so you both can work towards an end.
Please keep us posted on all things about your case in this thread.
Good luck brother!

Your TSH is high indicating hypothyroid which presents the same symptoms as hypogonadism. I post this all the time but a more recent range used in TSH is 0.3 - 3.0. Talk to your doc immediately about this. Read the following on Coleiac's from Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease

thanks kelkel, do u know what can fix the hypothyroid? my doctors word to be exact, is to live with the random pains in my balls?
just read up on the hypothyriod and i have the following:
Decreased libido in men[18] due to impairment of testicular testosterone synthesis
Difficulty swallowing
Shortness of breath with a shallow and slow respiratory pattern
Increased need for sleep
Irritability and mood instability
Gynecomastia only very slightly,
Hair loss
Weight gain and water retention[
Cold intolerance, increased sensitivity to cold
Rapid thoughts
Depression!Last edited by covertking; 06-03-2012 at 06:50 AM.

Synthroid is a common prescription. Natural supplements would be Iodine, Selenium, Tyrosine and thyroid glandular OTC.
Ask your doc is he'd live with random pain in his balls. Next time you see him kick him in the nuts and ask him if that's ok every now and then! Find another doc. Any of those symptoms above fit?
And start supplementing with D if it wasn't already said somewhere above.

Lol they are all useless and clueless. I don't care if you see Doug Lording, David De Kretser, Robert McLaughlin or another dickhead from Andrology Australia. I've been there and done that when i used to live in Australia. They took my money and delivered nothing. Honestly these guys are all jokes who know far less than most of the guys on this board. If you keep chasing endos you are chasing your tail. I advised you before to see the male hormone expert in Perth who visits other states each month. He has more knowledge in his little finger than any of the wankers from Andrology Australia will ever know.

Yeah he's the one. All the others are useless, trust me. For some reason Simon is fixated on seeing an endo but he is wasting his time and money because they know f_ck all! Endos are only good for diabetes and thyroid problems, definitely not for male hormones. One endo i saw didn't even know what DHT was! They all refuse to test anything more than total test, free test, LH and FSH because they think that's all that needs to be tested. Absolute joke they are!

Can't send you PM's since your a new member. Just google 'wellmen centre' and the first 3 links are to his/their website.
Looking around various forums of other peoples experiences with endos in Aus, I tend to agree that they're useless. I didn't even know we can get free test done. I thought they just used the FAI (free androgen index) for that.
