trt dosages
Ok...so where do I start..went the anti-aging way and was put on test cyp hgc and arimedex btu for some reason I feel like the dosages are to high to begin with..
calls for 420mg/wk of cyp 1000iu of hcg 2x/wk and arimedex at 1 tablet twice a week....I am 46 years old and I have never done a cycle in my life..and when i ask the consultant about the dosage he just say...hey...if its on the script follow that....what do you guys think???
PS....free test is 12 from 6.8-21.5
total test is 495 from 348-1197

your test cyp should be much lower. i've seen trt doses as high as 200mg week. i'm only 80mg / week. your dose is a cycle, not testosterone repla***ent!!

where thoes test done while you were on trt? or before?
Usual Trt dose is around 200mg per week, HCG is around 250Iu 2-3 times per week, and it depends on the dose of your arimedex... 420mg per week is far to high. thats basically a cycle dosage.
But everyone is different and responds to different dosages.

Welcome cell911.
I can only assume this is from a clinic? I can't imagine it being from a normal (?) doctor/endo/etc. Many clinics don't really care about you, just about money. What your doing is a cycle, not TRT. Are you primary or secondary hypogonadal? You need to post your stats: height, weight, bodyfat, age, lifestyle, overall health. Also your last bloodwork with ranges. Without that we are just throwing darts here other than saying that's a rediculous amount of test and the hcg is high also. None of it is good long term! The results posted don't seem to gel with amounts taken.
You also need to find a good doctor. Read the stickies above. All of them. One will help direct you to a doctor in your area hopefully.
Post up so members here can help.
And welcome!

Yeah that test dose is double the average dose of all the guys on the forum. My script is for 100 mg 2x a week and 250 units of hcg mon wed fri.
the body really cant do much with a dose over 500 units of hcg in a single day. the test dose is definitely headed towards a cycle.

You can do those doses if you want to...but it isn't TRT.
I wouldn't run for more than 12 weeks. You mentioned 8 weeks, but it is a long ester, so it will take 4 weeks just to kick in.
Definitely don't run it long term (agreeing with KelKel).

Cell are you looking for TRT or a cycle? If you seriously need TRT then you need to change things up as stated above and get dialed in to a steady/healthy protocol based on bloodwork. It takes time. Then if you choose to do a "blast" as we call it here, so be it. We're not judgemental here, just want to help be it in this forum or the others. If it's more about cycling (and that's fine) you should post up in the AAS forum.
You still haven't answered exactly what got you here? What were your symptoms? Your Age?Last edited by kelkel; 05-01-2012 at 06:44 PM.

I did answer Kelkel....syptoms were what all 46 year old guys feel like....shit, tired, depression...no morning wood and loss of libido....but nothing really bad....so I decided to go the anti-aging route...and here I am now with these crazie ass dosages from these clowns who were only interested in making a sale...and I know that...just wanted to start a legit treatment

Apologies Cell. Any chance of going the normal doc route? What your doing will definitely put on some muscle coupled with the correct diet/training but long term, no way. Also just saw the hgh part. Obviously that works best synergistically with test. Keep us posted and let us know what protocol you choose. Interested in seeing your results!

Will do Kel...think I am going to to do 300/wk for 10.....do bloodwork and adjust it to trt levels....my question is at 300 how do I adjust the hcg and ai???
-

you can do 500iu x2 per week on the hcg and the rule of thumb for ai is 1mg of liquidex per 100mg of test. You might start out at 2 or 2.5 mg of armidex and go from there. Split test dose into two shot's and take liquidex 12 hour's afterwards.

yes.
when i went to the clinic they prescribed 200 mgs test ew, 100 mgs deca ew, 50 mgs anavar ed, 1mg AI ed. month later i felt like shit, too much all at once! like Kel said, clinics are more interested in your money than your health. its been a year or so for me and i have learned allot, now i am on 30 mgs eod with 250-300 iu hCG eod, no AI and never felt better! but if you want to do a cycle then do it but its not TRT!

I agree with everyone that your prescription seems quite high BUT....
From what I have seen it is quite common for a doctor or longevity clinic to start people out 2x what they should take for the first couple of months. I think it may be a front loading mentality? They start out high then they cut it back down to 150 - 200 a week later. Seems a little idiotic to me expecially if you understand how it works and it could cause more harm than good.
I think my doctor did sort of the same with me but instead I just went with 150 a week and it was all good from there on out. There was no AI needed and HCG was not offered at the time.

Only way to adjust is via blood work. Too much AI can crush your E very quickly. Start low with it. Low E is no fun. Many of us have been there.

Like everyone has said, these dosages are too high for TRT. Many online clinics just want to sell you product. The max they can give you at a time is a 6 month supply so the prescribed dosage is usually the amount of money you feel comfortable spending divided by 26 weeks,. That's where 420mg/week comes from, you don't usually see odd numbers like that.
