JPK in the hospital
All, JP had a heart attack and is recovering in the hospital for the next three days. He is the proud owner of a new stint due to a blockage. He is in good spirits and is complaining about the lack of food they will give him LOL.
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

Really?
OK. Cause you can think you are in the best shape of your life and have no symptoms or not recognize them. And the next thing you know you have a stint being placed.
What did you think I meant???

WTF!! He sent me a PM this morning that was really upbeat, telling me about all the fun he had on his birthday and other things. I had a ton of things going, but figured I would PM him back later on when things settled down. So, I jump on and see this ...
We're pulling for you, so get out soon and get it back on track! So sorry your great day ended up going this direction.

It can happen at any time, just showing we are all biological blobs with an endpoint.
Don't know if any of you saw this story yesterday (not too far from me): http://espn.go.com/olympics/swimming...ies-arizona-26
But I'm sure jp will be back (± a stint) telling us all about it!

Glad you got treatment ASAP...chest pain I assume? This is only a temporary setback...you'll be back to you in a few days/weeks. Question is...what about your diet and routine will they want you to change? Maybe the addition of one of the blood thinner meds.? They always preach diet, but I'm not so sure on that unless you eat a bag of chips a day and have a gut on you. Obviously not the case with you.
We'll be thinking about you. Get well.

This hits me close to home because I was always a good candidate for arterial plaque formation (not sure if that is JPK's issue though).
My advice was eat whatever it takes and supplement with what you can to get your HDL as high as possible (well over the normal range) but at the same time lower your LDL (especially the very low density LDL). Measure and watch your CRP (C-reactive protein).
You can have great BF numbers but less than stellar HDL/LDL numbers.
Even gum disease can cause high CRP and inflammation in the body - so one other thing to be careful about.
And, oh yeah, normal test levels are said to reduce arterial inflammation, so that part we have already addressed.
...watermelon is good too
