    TRT and Thyroid Meds

Anyone here take Synthroid while on TRT?

Reason I ask is because I can't seem to lose weight since I've been taking it. Back before I did TRT and synthroid, I lost a good deal of fat and got lean. Since the Dr. put me on it in Jan. I can't seem to lose the 8-10 lbs I've put on since then.

Is it the test making me gain weight or the meds (started test two weeks ago)? Most people I've spoke with say they can't seem to lose weight while on their meds. depsite the Dr. telling you that you should lose weight taking the meds. Just wondering if there is some sort of inbalance I'm fighting or if anyone here is dealing with the same thing.

    Stats: 36
    Weight: (now) 171, was 158-160
    BF: 16% currently from 11-12%

Test injections twice a week, about 1cc (yes, I'm taking a hair more than what is called for)

Been doing some interval this past weekend and this week. 25 minutes total; walk a minute, jog hard a min, walk a min... and so on.

Are you taking an AI with your test? It could be from water weight. I don't understand how people could not lose weight easier than before on Thyroid meds. They are suppose to help your body with it's resting metabolism. Maybe you are taking the wrong ones. Perhaps try straight T3 or some Armour Thyroid. Ive heard good thing's from both of those meds.

    Yes, taking .25 ED Adex

What it is suppose to do and what it does do are two different things. I've only spoke with one person out of the couple dozen that has lost weight on thryoid meds.

maybe get some Thyroid panels done via bloodwork to see what's going on.

Watch your E2 with that amount of AI. Also, you've gained 11 lbs but also lost 4-5 % body fat? Don't judge yourself totally by the scale, especially if your working out hard. Muscle is heavier than fat.

weight loss can be so many things... it's probably diet as much as you may not want to hear it.

unfortunately, we can't offer you much help without looking at your blood work numbers. maybe your synthroid isn't working for you... maybe it is... maybe your T is too low... who knows without labs?
