    New to trt

Hello all, 41 yr old, 6' 2" tall and 220lbs. I have been feeling kinda down and out the last 4-5 months with lack of energy, low sex drive, foggy headed and just wasn't feeling right. So I went to my GP and had BW done and ended up getting prescribed 200mg a month test cyp injection. I was diagnosed with Low T. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster, would feel good then bad again by end of the second week. I started researching trt therapy and came across this site and started reading all I could and have learned a lot. Wish I would've found this site sooner. I have learned that my dose is to spread out. I have another appt set up in a couple of weeks to do my 12 week BW and looking forward to seeing the results. Here is my 1st BW. Thanks for any help or info.

If that is your inital, prior to starting TRT bloodwork, you might want to look at the reasoning your LH is so low with that low of a T level. You may be a good candidate for hcg monotherapy, which would elemenate several of the possible sides from TRT. While in range, your bun and creatinine are a little out of whack. Definately worth keeping an eye on.

Yes looks like I'm Secondary Hypogonadism. HCG will be something I will have to talk to my GP about also.

Ok, I'm assuming this is pre-TRT BW, right? If so, you should have had an MRI to rule out pituitary issues first. Second, your doctor does not know TRT or he would understand the half-life of testosterone which is app 5-7 days. If he does not understand something so basic how will he understand HCG or possibly an AI in the future. No wonder you feel like crap. I don't think I'd try to educate a doctor that is so far off initially. Just start looking for another. Read the sticky on Finding a TRT Physician, maybe it will help. Save yourself a lot of time and effort, IMO.

And welcome to the forum. Keep us posted on your progress on THIS thread!

This is pre- TRT BW, and my GP did not mention anything about a MRI or what the cause of my low T is but I have a lot of questions for him when I go back. Its scary, right now I feel like I know more about trt then my GP does and I'm a noob. Thanks for the replies.......

    Agree with others

    but dont burn any bridges

maybe you can inject at home and split your dose up....maybe start at 80mg a week (good starting dose)(with the AVERAGE dialed in TRT dose is somewhere around 100-125) but starting low is always good

if the doc doesnt budge with either more frequent smaller injects or home injects then a good smack in the puss is what to give em

    good listing of bloodwork

you DIDNT mention how long youve been on your 200mg per month roller coaster ride although we can paint the picture when we see MONTHLY because even every 2 weeks is frowned upon....my rx says every 3 weeks but i self inject so its a moot point i inject weekly and have been for 6-7 years

    best of luck big fella

be sure to post the new bloodwork along with when it was DRAWN in relation to the last shot

With your LH level being so low, there was/is a chance you might respond to HCG alone, but with a test of 111 you would have a long way to go.

I agree with kel, your GP is over his head, so it's no big deal, just find a specialist and you will be in much better hands.
