40 and in the best condition of my life, really ?

Yep I hit 40 a few days ago, and i've been mtb biking for like 2 years now to stay in shape, I always had some sort of bike. so me and some friends where talking and I told them that I can run now so much faster and longer, then I could 20 years ago, so I'm at the best condition of my life, I tought.
but then when I went to sleep that night i remembered when I was 18 or so I could do like 100 to 150 pushup straight with no problem, now I can barely do 50 my arm start to hurt so bad, so something must be missing form my system, I got me thinking, if i had that vigor i had 20 years ago I would be so much faster on the bike, so my question, what gave me that vigor back then, more test, more hormones or hgh ?

dont take this lying down Dart, steady, consistant biking has you from the waist down better than you were 20 years ago, awsome! I bet that same approach to your upper body would do the same. Yes I would look very hard at your hormone status, you are at the best place on the web to learn how to take charge of your health, good luck and welcome!

What keep fighting said is on target. Resistance training will do wonders for you and be a great compliment to your biking routine. Remember when you started your biking, it wasn't easy then right? When it comes to hormones, maybe it's time for some Blood Work to establish good baselines and see where your at. It's in the stickies under Finding a TRT Physician or check www.lef.org for their male hormone panels. Don't forget to check you vit D level.

And welcome to the forum. Great place to read and learn. If you get the BW done post it here so we can review and lead you in the right direction.
