Annual costs of TRT
I just calculated the financial cost of TRT for the past year. It was a mix of copays, Rx, labs, and doc visits. I was on test gel and later IM inj twice a month. $1k out of pocket and $2k ins. Total $3k plus ins premiums. I am in southeast USA. What does your tx consist of and what is annual cost?

$2,000-$2,500 [depending on amt of bw] all out of pocket.

$1,059.05 for Nebido, and $143.60 for blood work per year.

depending on which way you go, with clinics you're looking at $2000-$2500 like KF noted, but if you go through a doctor that hands you the script so you can take it to any pharmacy then you're looking at $1500-$1800 per year.

Out of pocket for me is $60 for 12, 5mg bottles of Test E ($5 each) and $10 for 1x a year doctors visit co pay. No out of pocket for blood work. Leave me with about 4+ bottles a year extra. $70 total a year.

So a range of $70 to $3000 to tx annually. Obviously, I need to get my script and take over tx to save money. Does anyone use mail order/3 mo supply via ins to save money buying in bulk?

copays are about $20 each, so $100-200 a year.
Test is $80, roughly 2x a year
Adex is $10, roughly 6x a year
hcG is $10, 12x a year
syringes etc, are about $30 a year
Not bad.

I pay a $3 co-pay if I pick it up myself at the pharmacy. If I sign up for auto-delivery then cost is $0. Just can't do it with the Test though. For some reason I just feel better picking it up myself. No cost for BW and my doc gives me extra scripts and will write maybe one BW test on there and I can add to it (with his blessing) and test when and what I choose. GREAT doc!

forgot the blood work you're correct I get tested about every eight weeks with md labs at a cost of $50 sometimes I get a full workup for around $150
I made a mistake on the Anastrozole
.25 eod is around .75 to 1mg /week
I guess a good rule of thumb for me is around $2000/year with no help from Insurance

Hard to really say yet as I have had a lot more tests cause I am just starting out. If I fill my script once a month that is close to 900 bucks a year, although that would leave me with tons extra. Blood work is like 180 that I will do once a year from here on out. BUt I have done a lot of other stuff and other tests. Plus my visits are usually 50 bucks in person or 25 for follow ups over the phone. And I dunno how often I will need those in the future. Certainly could do it for under 1k a year.

$20 a week copay. Bloodwork is not extra I don't think. So far it's been $20/wk except first visit which was $44. So I suppose it will be $1040 a year.
I know there has to be a cheaper way. Not that this is THAT high, but I'm sure I can do better.

$3500 here, but I have $1000 of it covered with insurance and my doc fee is $900 per year in that also.
Pretty expensive, but it is worth it. There are ways to cut costs but I'd hope those decisions are made with letting the doctor know so he isn't trying to medicate you blind.

I end up with a total of about 5.5k put into my HSA a year, max I can do, well worth it considering it reduces the amount of taxes I pay. I pay for my TRT and labs and visits out of pocket because I am "too young" according to my insurance to have my testosterone levels checked. And my total test was too high for coverage anyways, I don't care though, it wouldn't have saved me much anyways. Insurances is worthless unless you have a major disaster or are hospitalized for an extended period. But thats my opinion, insurance is ridiculously expensive. Under new plan, its best to just pay the penalty for not having insurance, until disaster happens, and then bam get insurance.

Times Roman
I expect costs to drop after dialed in. Doc just switched to weekly inj. At home.
I did have a coupon which gave me 6 mo free T gel.
I appreciate the responses on here. It helps guage how deep my pockets need to get for the next 30+ years of tx.
