    Bhrt?

"Natural or Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) uses hormones which are biologically identical to those your body makes/made before Menopause/Andropause set in."

Is this different from HRT/TRT? If so is it recommended?

I've found a clinic close by that offers this treatment and since I haven't heard of it I wanted to check with you folks here before doing anything and spending money.

I went ahead and made an appointment with this guy in 2 weeks.

Unfortunately the receptionist couldn't really answer my questions about what sort of treatment is provided other than testosterone cream so I'll have to try to get this guy or someone knowledgeable from his office on the phone before the appointment.

Does anyone know if BHRT specialists also prescribe injections, AI's, HCG ? Or do they just do compound creams?

And anyone from Aus, are these compounded test creams covered by medicare?

It's the same as HRT, they just use the term "Bio-identical" for marketing purposes. This doctor should be able to provide with everything that you listed. As for the medicare, I do not know.

I was confused about that term as well when I started researching Hormone therapy.

Like JWP806 said, it's just a term that "anti aging Clinics" like to use for marketing.

    Thanks.

I'm still going to make sure that he does/is willing to prescribe the other options and to see if he'll actually try to find the cause rather than just prescribing test creams.

BINGO: "see if he'll actually try to find the cause rather than just prescribing test creams."

You must have lurked here for a while and learned.

This statement is dead on and exactly what you should expect before any TRT protocol is prescribed.

Rule out all pathologies and all pathway/endocrine deficiencies first and foremost before TRT!
