If using nolvadex, which, as I understand it, boosts LH and FSH production, is there a need for HCG, which "simulates" LH?
Could one on TRT just run 10mg of nolvadex ed rather than HCG and an AI? If not, why?

If I'm not mistaken hcg prepares your testicles for normal function
By substituting for LH, I think.
It seems that nolva stimulates actual LH production...

Nolva won't boost pituitary production of LH if on TRT and shut-down. So yes, you need HCG. As a matter of fact some time ago when I was struggling with balancing my E level and running Nolva to protect against a spike in E, I was doing monthly BW and ran LH/FSH just to see if I got "anything" out of it. Results were absolutely zero. Hence why nolva is run for pct several weeks after cessation of exogenous Test, where it can then actually stimulate production.
