Low libido 3 weeks into TRT

I started Testogel 50mg/5g with no HCG or AI 3 weeks ago after stopping TRT for 3 months.
My libido is now terrible. So much worse than before TRT.
I know i need to post BW to get the best response, but blood test isnt for 2 weeks.
I researched that this could be due to high E2, or deficiency in Pregnenolone from lack of testicular function.
Will HCG or AI added to the protocol increase my libido and erection strength?
Its just a have a new girlfriend and dont want to scare her off, as in only 21 :(
And yes, i have diagnosed low testosterone from more than 5 blood tests

I read this a lot from guys who are on 5g Testogel. They feel good for the first few weeks then 3 or 4 weeks later feel shit. I think it's probably bcoz your endogenous test levels are now much more suppressed than when u began so u will have to either increase your dose of gel or add some hCG. Maybe u could call ur doc to ask him to post u a pathology request form so u can find out what ur test level is or ask him if u can increase dose to 1.5 - 2 packs a day. Doing this has the potential to cause more problems with elevated E2 though.

So that gets me thinking. So testogel will raise my testosterone level to a high level for a period of time during the day, but then return to very low level by the evening. My latest natural testosterone level was 9.2nmol/L. Would the total testosterone secreted by my testes be higher at the end of the day, than getting that a large spike once a day then nothing?

Your test level will be lower later in the day not higher. If you have enough Testogel I would apply an additional half a pack at night until you see your doc again. If he has given u a pathology request form i would have the blood test done before you increase your dose. You mentioned that you wanted to switch to shots after you next see your doc which i think you will find better because a lot of guys find applying the gel every day is a real pain the ass.

I am going to request 100mg of primoteston and 500IU of HCG, split into 2 shots. (wednesday and sunday)
I fear he is going to say its one or the other....

I hate to be the guy with the bad news but Testosterone Replacement is no sexual panacea and usually after the initial start-up effect it has little impact on libido.

Libido is so complex volumes could be written on it; so don't put all you eggs in one basket thinking that proper TRT is going to give you a screaming libido...it rarely happens after the initial rush.

Complete hormonal balance and right mind set are the strongest foundation for bettering libido...not just TRT.

Ok thanks gdevine. Although my libido was very low last night, i still managed to get an erection after the right mind set.
I was only asking due to the fact thats is "worse" than off TRT. I am going to ask my doc to start HCG and primoteston in 2 weeks. I will be patient.
I do appreciate everyones help, this site is all i have.

libido is effected by many factors not just hormones ! It could be depression or other meds if taking any . Even if you worry about not performing will effect it. (the mind is a powerful thing)

What makes u fear that? Did you ever test your LH levels? This is important bcoz it will tell u whether u have primary or secondary hypogonadism. If ur LH was low you are secondary and hCG will help u. If ur LH was high u are primary and would probably not benefit from hCG except for maybe its mood lifting effects. Not everyone experiences this effect though.

Wholeheartedly agree that libido is a complex subject and is seldom an easy quick fix. However I can firmly say that in our case, the addition of Testosterone (currently Androgel) enables my husband to have a healthy, functional libido. Without it, our sexual relationship suffers.

I speak with many women who have noticed positive and long term turnarounds in their significant male after starting TRT alone without addressing all other hormones. Although I admit that is a more optimum approach. Yes, at first after initiating testosterone there is often an initial dopamine rush and a heightened sexuality. While that can tend to wear off, I believe that for most guys sexuality is greater overall than before if indeed testosterone was previously low (so long as the basics like estrogen are kept in check).

Although I am female, the addition of testosterone caused a heightened sense of well being in my body and much more engorgement in my genitalia. That led to far greater sexual arousal and enjoyment in my case. I believe that is the case for many males also. I think some people have a libido stemming from thoughts etc, their brain is hardwired to be sexual possibly even with low testosterone. Other are much more inspired from actual physical stimuli. This is obviously over simplifying a complex matter but I would put my husband in the latter group. The greater blood flow that T affords him eg, nocturnal erections etc and a far greater ability to get quickly erect in turn inspires a greater libido. Frequent thoughts of "Lets' not waste a good erection" can occur and become well used pathways in the brain. I don't pretend to know how a male thinks but my husband has mentioned this sort of thought process to me.

Often times on these forums we read so many of the problems and negatives associated with T not being the panacea some hope. Thankfully we discover and learn many great things due to determination to overcome these problems on forums like this. But overall, I do think testosterone therapy (even alone) has an overall positive effect on the majority of males who decide to opt for it. But I agree that a positive mindset is crucial.

OP: Starting doses of androgel were not enough for my husband. He uses 10 grams per day. Check E and increase doses if your Doc is on board with that, using testing to guage along with physical symptoms.

So last night I had a mates 21st birthday and had a few drinks (10). This morning I could not get an erection with my girlfriend. This has never happened to me ever. I am very
Upset. It was probably due to the testosterone converting to E2 from the alcohol. When I wasn't on TRT I could get erections whenever I pleased. My libido was already low when I wasn't drinking, and after last night it's at an all time low :(

So i have swapped to Primoteston 250mg/ml. Feel better on day 1 already.
The Testogel was not responsive to my skin. The highest T level was 16nmol/L

What dose of Primoteston are you going to use and how about HCG?

Primoteston 250mg per 10 days, split into 2 doses.
Also got a script for Pregnyl but having trouble finding a chemist with the HCG.
Also my doc didnt show me how to use it, but ill figure it out i guess

I'm surprised he started you off on that much test. That's 175mg/week. Normal starting dose is 100mg/week then bloods taken about 6 weeks later and the dose adjusted from there. No doubt your estro will be high on that dose especially with HCG as well. Did he tell you how much HCG to take? You need to buy bacteriostatic water to mix with the HCG. Don't use the sodium chloride that comes with it

I will start on 500UI a week.
My problem is the primoteston is in a ready vile and needle so it's hard to split.
What's the smallest needle I can use?R

What I would do if I was in your situation is to buy some sealed sterile vials and inject the Primoteston into one of them, then draw up the amount you need using a 21g needle into your 1ml syringe. You will need plenty of sealed sterile vials if you are going to be on HCG long term as well.
The smallest needle you can use to inject is 30g but the downside is it takes a long time to inject. A 25g makes it quicker but is sometimes a bit painful to insert. Recently i've been using 27g 1/2 inch needles which i've found is a good compromise. PM me if you want to know some sites to buy the vials, needles and bac water.
