Lightbulb Does higher values of C-Reactive Protein (inflammation) increase SHBG ???

    Hi there,

So the question is simple. I have read some articles and have found a correlation between the two. Higher values of inflammation in the body can increase SHBG. I just would like some knowledgable person to approve of this, please justify if possible.

And if you are curious of my situation...

I do have high CRP values along with high SHBG.

My hormone panel looks like this:

    TT:24
    SHBG:53
    LH:4
    FSH:2
    C-reactive protein: 90.9

    Thanks for all the responses..

"C-reactive protein was measured to ensure that no subject was suffering from an acute inflammatory illness, which may have affected hormone levels"

http://www.clinsci.org/cs/100/0661/cs1000661.htm - this study was focusing on SHBG and T levels in smoking males
