Been on 125mg/w test with a doc who doesn't know anything! Want to stop.. PCT needed?

    Hi all,

Quick story... 35 years old. Been on 125mg test shots 1 per week for about 1.5 years. Went in with low libido, family doc said I was a bit low on test so started the shot... He obv doesnt know much about HRT... I've had no follow up blood work, no adjustments, nothing. Not even sure I neeeed HRT.

Went on it also because I like weight lifting and thought it could help with recovery, but really doubt so little is doing anything there.

Wondering if safe to quit 125mg week shots without PCT... Or if I need something. Problem is my doc has no idea and I don't know much either...

Dr. Crisler seems very recommended around here and he does happen to be 45 minutes from me. Just emailed their office to see about an appt.

Guess the money will be worth finding out for sure... Wondering if I should keep on the shot till I see him so when he tests me he knows exactly what I'm on, or come off the shot and let my levels drop to where they naturally are... However no PCT worries me if it is needed.

I think I was low due to diet, sleep, stress, alcohol, divorce etc.. all of which has been fixed. I also plan to be having children in the next 1-3 years....

    Thanks for looking

No, it's not. If you have been on for 1.5 years then you are going to be shut down. Why do you feel that your Doc doesnt know anything? I would speak with him first and get bw done.

Because he has told me he doesn't know much about hormone levels or anything about PCT. Most times when I am in there he is asking me questions about health and lifting etc. Thanks on the info for not just stopping... Looks like I will get into Dr. Crisler and see what my options are.

I should get new bloodwork I know!, Would you recommend right after a shot, or right before?

What type of test are you on? I don't know a whole lot about TRT but I do know that I would be getting another doctor.

What makes you think you need to come off? It seems like putting someone on TRT is a big decision for a Doctor to make.

Crisler will know what to do, although he is pretty stressed right now as someone is falsely accusing him of some things. He should be able to get you on the right track. Just make sure you tell him everything, and you get your pretrt blood work etc for him.

Yea I had read some negative things on Crisler which is why I avoided the first time around. My pre blood work won't be accurate as a lot in my life was different including (I FORGOT TO MENTION WOW) the devil drug itself that led me to test was Propecia/Finastraide. It killed my DHT obviously... Wow can't believe I forgot so soon. Been off that libido killer for about 3 months and man o man is life good. That is why I think I don't need HRT. I KNOW the main thing was the Propecia killing my sex drive.

Went on Propecia for baldness, but it caused severe depression, libido loss, some ED moments, anxiety, etc.

I'd suggest you post this in the PCT section, or at least look at Swifto's Aggressive PCT. to be honest even if you can restart your natural production it will go back to where you were before TRT, but most likely you won't, 1.5 years is at the point of no return! my opinion.

Thanks, will do. 1.5 years at only 125mg a week past the point of no return?? Ouch, seems like such a small dose.. Definitely think my low range of normal test was due to finastride usage and all the beer I drank before blood work., even back to that would be better than 125 bucks a month in shots! Man was I stupid to mess with hormones

It's a low dose in terms of bodybuilding but compared to what your body produces naturally, it is higher. Thus, your body does not signal to produce test anymore.

guitarman: you obviously have an accomodating doc. Now ask him to do a male hormone panel and give you the results. Post them here if you want feedback.

If you want to get off TRT, follow bass' advice and go over to the PCT forum.
