    TRT High testosterone levels

    Hi, i am on TRT and also im a steroids user
    In my current analysis tesosterone was pretty high and my doc said to increase the interval between injections
    My question is, why he said that supraphysiological testosterone levels are bad?
    I train powerlifting, so strenght is what i do, but he said that there is no difference on strenght between normal - high (but in range) test level and supraphysiological levels.
    As a steroid user, i always believe that the more test the better, so i wanna know what are the downs of having supraphysiological testosterone levels and how that affects on strenght

    thank you

    It would help if you provided some number. Just saying they are high doesn't mean much. A full hormone panel would be best.

    Here's one...

    When total testosterone is supraphysiologic, at lets say over 1000 ng/dl, men will experience problems with libido, erection quality and poor orgasm intensity.

    Testosterone increases Dopamine in the brain and we hear men all the time who were once hypogonadal say that when they started their TRT protocols they "never felt better in years and their libido is through the roof"!

    So, testosterone replacement in hypogonadal men initially will increase sex drive, reduces depression and gives pleasure to many activities. But it's short lived unfortunately as the brain (Dopamine receptors) settles down to the now normal physiological Dopamine levels

    The problem is that Dopamine is a very fragile neurotransmitter/hormone in its effect on the brain.

    Too high a Dopamine level for sustained periods of time can cause a tolerance or "numbing" to Dopamine. This is not too dissimilar to how people develop tolerance to drugs like cocaine and amphetamines which increase Dopamine levels in the brain to cause their "high" if you will.

    This can lead to the loss of libido, ability to maintain an erection and lower orgasm intensity when high testosterone levels are maintained for long periods of time.

    This is just one of many things that come to mind when we talk about sustained elevated levels of Testosterone in men.

    Who else wants to jump in???

    Sorry for the dalay.
    Here are my current levels

    * ESTRADIOL 118 pg/ml 0 - 55
    * Total TESTOSTERONE 11.56 ng/ml 2.2-9.1
    * SHBG 12mmol/l 16-76
    * BIOAV TESTOSTERONE 9.90 ng/ml 1.20-4.30
    * FREE TESTOSTERONE 1432.0 pmol/l 180 - 670
    * DHEA Sulfate 2899 ng/ml 520 - 4920
    * GH 0.35ng/ml hasta 3.5
    * IGF-I - 209ng/ml
    For IGF-1 the reference value for my age (29) is 117 - 329 with a median of 196

    I use testoviron (enanthate ) 250 every week, but now my doc increased the interval between inyections

    So, if high test levels are so bad, why in a steroid cycle doses of 500mg of test enanthate or even more are common? what is the utility to use such high doses?

    Tanks

    There is a big difference in the amount of time one is on a cycle and one on TRT. They are saying its bad to have such high levels for a prolonged period of time, whereas a cycle is only 6-12 weeks or so followed by PCT.

    Your estrogen level is pretty high as well.
    You ask about a cycle of 500mg+ that your answer it's a cycle.
    What we like to see is a well balanced panel that you can run for the long term without long term detriment.

    Maybe a better way would be to reduce the mg. per injection and split it up to 2x a week to take the spikes out of the level and to help bring down the estrogen. An aromatase inhibitor should be looked into as well.
    I'm sure GDevine will chime in he is our resident expert.

    Not sure where you're getting that from. Of course hypo men can feel better. It's just a matter of dialing in your overall protocol between you and hopefully a competent doc to where you feel your best. This is based on evaluations of your BW in conjunction with how you feel.

    TRT and cycling (supraphysiologic levels) have completely different goals and objectives.

    well i rec 12-16 weeks but yest your right. long term extra high levels would most likely be bad or cause issues in relation to another illness you may have.

    Which is exactly why the aging male should consider supplementing with low dose Deprenyl. It prevents the breakdown of Dopamine in the brain, which, BTW begins to break down around 45 yrs of age and averages app 13% or so every decade with a small percentage much quicker. I've been taking it for about two years now as has several other members here.
