Almost a year on TRT, still low libido.
I have been on the gel for almost a year now and can't seem to boost my sex drive at all. I'm still seeking injections but is there anyway I can get things improving? I currently take L-arginine and Pcynogenol but still see little improvement.

Hey steven. Is your profile correct? Are you 20 years old? Do you have any blood work you can share with us? What is your current prescription protocol?

What's the back ground, have you used steriods previously?

Could easily be E2 related, as well as other imbalances directly or indirectly related to your protocol. If you can post up all of your labs, we can help provide some additional assessments.

You need blood work as listed in the sticky at the top of the forum in Finding a TRT Doc.

It's a peptide that is in FDA final clinical trials...if it ever makes a drug store shelf only time will tell.
It was designed to cause a melatonin response in people looking for a tan without having to go out into the sun.
During trials they discovered that it acted as a neurohormone and increase libido in men and provided for excellent erections.
For women, they experienced enhanced libido and sexually aroused sex organs.
Many of us here tried or have used it with success.
In fact, I probably use it a few times a month with much success.
It can only be purchased by research sites.
Our sponsor sells it and I believe there's a great sale right now for the month of October.
Do a Google search on PT 141 and learn...

Libido was the one thing that the gel seemed to improve with me. I tried PT-141 to no avail. I want to try again but will use a different source, most likely our sponser since people here have posted using it successfully. My libido now is hit or miss and seems to be strongest when nearing my trough from the T cyp injections though I can't even be sure of that.

Also are you a big purveyor of porn? If so you might just be 'burned' out, especially if you follow through to er, 'satisfaction'...

I`m in the exact same situation. Great testosterone levels after TRT and great thyorid, but low libido. Rarely morning erections.
Do you have morning wood?
Libido is ****ing complex, pardon my french, which is extremely frustrating.
I see PT-141 being mentioned, but that is nothing else than a band aid, is it?

Are we talking about actual Libido (Sexual Desire), ED (Erectile Dysfunction) or both? If the problem is mainly ED, how is the OP's Blood Pressure? My doc feels there is a definite correlation between high BP & ED in some men. Just a thought...

I would say both. mostly sex drive though. I feel like if I wanted to have sex then my ED problems wouldn't exist. Morning erections are 50/50.

When you say libido is complex and frustrating you aren't kidding! The last three days libido has been back to normal or even slightly better. I have no idea why... (damn it)!
Like API's mentioned; get your bp checked for ed issues.

There's a plethora of variables to this, and anything suggested is just pure speculation.
Banking we can narrow it down considerably for you, BUT we will NEED labs (still). Total serum and TSH won't cut it. Please provide information about yourself leading up to this, including lifestyle, medications, recreational drugs, anything that can help us ascertain a little more to help you out.
Copied from Kelkel's sticky:
• Total Testosterone
• Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA “Free and Loosely Bound”)
• Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable)
• SHBG
• DHT (perhaps) *Gel user especially pay attention to this.
• Estradiol (specify “sensitive” assay for males)
• LH
• FSH
• Prolactin
• Cortisol
• Thyroid Panel
• CBC
• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
• Lipid Profile
• PSA (age dependent)
• IGF -1, IGFBP-3 (if HGH therapy is being considered)
Vitamin D
FOLLOW-UP LABS
Four weeks after initiating or changing dose for transdermal, six weeks for IM injection TRT. The time delay provides for stabilization via HPTA suppression and pharmacokinetics of medication:
• Total Testosterone
• Bioavailable Testosterone
• Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is still unavailable)
• Estradiol (specify “sensitive” assay for males)
• LH
• FSH
• CBC
• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
• Lipid Profile
• PSA (for those over 40 with Family Hx of prostate CA, >45 yo. all others)
• IGF-1, IGFBP-3 (if GH Therapy has been initiated already)

Please define mental. Psychological issues or brain chemistry?
Dr Mariano said that libido problems are often not related to low testosterone and if you get your testosterone over 650 ng/dl without improvement in symptoms, it was not the testosterone.
I know that I have never been a guy with high testosterone , moderate at best, but still I had a raging libido from the age of 12 to 18. I would have morning wood for hours and it was almost a problem during my long commute to school where I had trouble hiding it.
So, it`s not cool having lost that completely.
Yes, it`s crazy annoying and frustrating. When you get it back, it seems ridiculous to even think that it should disappear, but then, out of the blue, gone!
I had a string of days a few months back. It coincided with just having met a girl I liked. I also think I started taking Gingko Biloba. I had a chubby in my pants all day long and carried wood when going home from the gym. It was great. Even too much.
But suddenly it was gone. And I`ve met girls that I have liked since then, but no effect. I just can`t seem to find any causality.
FWIW, my BP was normal the last time my doctor checked, provided I can trust him.
