Help with BW/Thyroid levels
Ive noticed some irregularities in my thyroid level and the Endo isn't even entertaining the idea of anything being wrong with my thyroid.
Not sure if there's anything there but I'd love any input from you guys.
Background:
24 yo Male
5'11''
230 Lbs
recently diagnosed with 3mm Pituitary tumor
Having a lot of symptoms I would like to pin on hypothyroidism (weight gain, fatigue, inability to concentrate, Anxiety, depression, ETC.)
Also found low Test and put on TRT around 8 Months ago.
Can Test levels (High or low) mess with thyroid production?

T4 is low and I would have liked to have seen Free T3 as it paints a more accurate picture.
Your converting to T3 is fine; tad low but nothing to really worry about.
Reverse T3 is low and just what you want.
I don't see any real issues.
Add kelp and 200mcg of Selenium each day to your supplements and make sure to have iodized salt at home and use it...make sure it says iodized.
What are your prolactin labs like...and you know that tumor is causing your Secondary Hypogonadal condition right?

Thanks Gdevine I'll look into those Supplements. What does the iodized salt do??
My Prolactin is within range and the Endo ruled out a prolactinoma.
I've been under the assumption that the tumor was causing that; however, I've seen two Endos. One Endo said it is definitely not causing low testosterone and the other one I saw didn't rule it out but didn't seem like she thought it was causing the low T either. They think it's too small to cause any symptoms.
All these symptoms just popped up out of the blue a little under a year ago. I'm just trying to get back to normal, but it's easier said than done when dealing with some of these doctors.

I am confused; you were recently diagnosed with 3mm Pituitary tumor but yet your Endo ruled out a Prolactinoma?
If you have a Pituitary tumor and it's causing your symptoms but yet your Prolactin assay is normal...either your Docs need to lose thier licenses or you're not explaining this correctly.
This makes no sense at all.

The Endo ran labs and said it was a non functioning Pituitary microadenoma, but he couldn't tell my why my Testosterone was low or why I was having any of these symptoms. I have just sought a second opinion and the second Endo wants me off TRT and to wait 11 weeks and then run more BW to see if my testosterone production will start back up on its own, and then go from there.
Although, when my PCP found the tumor he said it explains everything so I really don't know where to go from here. Just doing a alot of research on my own to try and figure out what's wrong.
I hope I'm explaining that correctly.

You need to know that by now you are HPTA suppressed and you won't start up on your own unless the Doc puts you on a restart protocol with drugs like Clomid and HCG . You are going to crash and feel like livng crap during those 11 weeks; you need to discuss this with your Doc.
Read this: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/p...e1#Section_280
Nonfunctioning adenomas
Signs and symptoms of nonfunctioning adenomas (most commonly gonadotroph adenomas) may include:
•Headache. (Refer to the PDQ summary on Pain for more information.)
•Visual field deficits.
•Pituitary insufficiency, which is due to compression of the pituitary stalk or destruction of normal pituitary tissue by the tumor, and predominantly manifests as secondary hypogonadism.
•Rarely, ovarian overstimulation, testicular enlargement, or increased testosterone levels .
You need to find the right Doctor my friend, seriously.

I agree with you 100% Gdevine and I've brought this up to the Endos and they keep saying it's too small to produce those symptoms. I also brought up using something to restart and both Endos want me to try naturally and see what happens.
That is a Neurologist and two Endos that have both said it's too small to cause anything. And I cant find any proof or studies of just Microadenomas causing these symptoms to show the doc. I have found plenty on adenomas, but nothing specifically tailored to microadenomas.
I'm on week 5 off Test and I'm definitely feeling terrible.
Looks like I'm off to find another Doc.
Appreciate your input gd
