    TRT Supplies & Domestic Flights

When traveling domestic I transport my Test Cyp & Oral Meds in my carry-on and place the syringes, etc. in my checked luggage. For international travel, I always front-load some Test Cyp & only take my required Oral Meds with me.

I recently flew to 3 different States on a business trip. After 3 of the 4 flights, I found a TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Flyer in my checked-luggage informing me that my bag had been randomly selected by TSA Officials for a “physical search”. As mentioned, only my syringes, band-aids & alcohol swabs were present in the checked bag. None of which were taken or missing from the bag upon examination at the Hotels. I’ve never had this happen before and am wondering what prompted the manual searches? The flyer(s) indicated it was based on random selection, but I’m thinking maybe the syringes showed up on x-ray which triggered the search by TSA? If so, you’d think they might have questioned me further upon arrival right? Thoughts? Has this happened to anyone here?

I’m on TRT through a Physician, but can you imagine if UG products were present in the bag upon search by the TSA? Just something to think about for anyone who is self-administering their TRT & happen to travel via air with their meds…

I have had it happen 2 times to me.Once it was with my trt pins and alcohol swabs
and the other time i didn't have any thing in my bag!

Now for carry on I bring my test some oral medications and pins too before and NEVER have a problem. They have not one time asked me any questions about my inject or oral meds.I have be through many airports and no problems yet.

I think that Flyer thing they put in your bag is just a random pick. And with the luck i have at times the first time i would bring something without a script i would probably be going to jail!!

I've had them take preloaded pins from me; twice flying domestic. I preloaded two pins with 240 mg and put them in my shaving bag. Had my script with me also... didn't matter. I argued it to the point that I had a supervisor come over and explain why they were taking prescription medication. According to the supervisor; they CAN take your pins or anything else if the original packaging is compromised/opened. You don't have to give it up; you just won't get on a plane that day. Both my instances were with carry on.

I got a letter from my Dr so I am able to take pre-loaded syringes on a flight. Same letter Diabetics get for insulin . They cannot take it from you if you have a letter allowing carry-on.

Wonder how that works... terrorist could use the same letter and bring on liquid explosives no? In reality- they can't test your pins for bomb making materials and swab a pin to put it in that little machine they use. I figured that's why they take them away if the packaging is compromised?
