brain fog, what does that feel like before trt

I still have 12 days to go before my first appointment with my eurologist and I wanted peoples impressions of "brain fog". My feelings of this are extreme light headedness, not everyday, but for 4-5 days and then it stops. when I'm feeling like this , I feel really doppy like I'm on some kind of drug. My comprehension and thinking processes are very slow and I'm extremely frustrated. I'm just worried that it may not be low test that's causing this. I just don't know what the typical "brain fog " feels like. I'm 48 and seem like my low t sympoms have gotten worse in recent months. Until I have my appointment, I can deal with low energy, poor libido, mood swings and increased stomach fat, but this " fog" is scary. Like I mentioned, when it happened before it lasted for about 4 days. I'm on my 5th day now and hating this feeling. Thanks for your input.

Sounds a lot like my fog. Even though I'd get a good night's sleep, I'd be about to fall asleep at my desk at work. No drive or motivation to do anything... pretty nasty depression on and off. Just kinda numb mentally. While everybody is different, I saw in improvement in the mental symptoms (fog, mood, concentration, etc.) almost immediately. (I started injections about a week and a half ago (50mg 2x/wk) - have had 3 shots so far) Of course, my T had been hovering around 200 - about 1/3 of what it should be for someone my age, so even adding a little T was a huge improvement for me.

It's a horrible feeling trying to diagnose a problem at work and not being able to even focus on where to start. I started to worry about other causes for this doppiness,{brain tumor, etc. }. Thanks for responding and I'm glad your feeling better now. Can't wait to see my doc.

Be sure you read the sticky topics on HCG and pregnenolone - they also seem to have some added benefit for mood and general feelings of well being.

I'd recommend reading ALL of the stickies and go armed with a list of questions for your doc. If you do that, you'll probably know more about male HRT than your doctor. Educate yourself as much as you can before you go. A LOT of doctors just aren't up to speed on HRT for men. I went through 2 urologists and an endocrinologist and they ALL missed important details. At least my endo was willing to start me on injections and drew *most* of the labs he should have... Thanks to the guys on here, I was able to identify several key labs that the endo didn't order (PSA, Lipid Panel, Thyroid panel) and went and got them myself.

I had many brain fog issues and lack of motivation and energy. I have LOW- T that isn't getting treated properly yet (waiting on the low t clinic to open since my docs are scrubs) and recently got prescribed adderall. It has helped some but I feel bad when it wears off. I'm hoping I only have to use it as a stop-gap and when I get my very low T fixed I'll be able to get off of it. I really think it's the underlying condition causing my mental problems.

I have been on trt for 7 weeks now . Before I started I would wake up exhausted wanting nothing more than to sleep. I procrastinated everything which has never been me. I would get anxiety when trying to get moderate amounts of paperwork completed for my business. Now I'm back to my old self and getting better. Cognition is like it used to be and still improving. Actually look forward to doing things now. Btw make sure and read stickies .

for me, brain fog is similar to being overworked or over tired. reduced cognative abilities, reduced memory. I have seen some improvement, but no miracles.
