Just found low Testosterone levels may be preventing me from getting back to normal.

I'm 41, been an athlete my entire life. This changesd about 6 years ago with a bad hamstring avulsion an even worse surgery. Surgery was 6/09. I was having trouble with building any muscle in the leg, and the gym was much harder than normal .(Fatigue wise) I haven't been sleeping, loss of interest in sex, and some fairly bad mood swings. My doctor did a full blood workup and told me that I had a lower testosterone level than they have ever seen. She asked how I was getting out of bet, let alone working full time and trying to live in pain. I will get the actual results later this morning and add to the post.

So I go back today for further testing (to find cause - pituitary, testes, etc) and hopefully a plan to follow.

What can I expect from the T-Therapy? Is there anything specific I should ask for? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Here's to hopefully becoming human again....

    Thanks,
    Fletch

Similar situation here - major knee surgery about two years before starting trt. Could never add much muscle to that leg/quad. It looked horrible. After starting it was able to catch up quickly and now the mass is equal in both legs. Now that's not why I started therapy, but I was pleased with the additional mass anyway.

    good luck!

OP - Sorry to hear about your situation.

Read the stickies at the top of the forum and start the education process...it will pay off in spades.

Also, go on Amazon and buy Nelson Vergel's book on Testosterone for Men...maybe one of best out there right now.

In the stickies, look at Finding a TRT Doc, in there you will see the blood work you need.

Get a copy of your blood work and post it here in this thread complete with ranges and we'll jump in!

I went back for further bloodwork today. The initial total T, which to my understanding should be between 200 and 800, with 600 being ideal for a normal healthy male, mine is 53.56. That isn't a typo. I'll post the other results when I get them and I'm reading as much as I can. I never taken anything more than GNC supplements. Thanks for your time and knowledge transfer. Much appreciated! Getting these results are shedding a lot of light on difficulties i've been having. I'm almost afraid to let hope back in....wish they would have tested me before the surgery...thanks again!

I had a major calf injury and surgery in 2011 that knocked me on my a** as well. I knew my T was low based on how i felt and got on a program in September.

In my case, inactivity other than a desk job and the pain meds really took it's toll.

Fast forward to today and I am in better shape than when I was in my 20's after only 3 months of starting TRT.

Listen to the pros on here and do let hope back in - that's what got you started down this healthy path, right?

    Good luck!!
