Did you have a pituitary MRI?
I am wondering how many of you guys got a pituitary MRI as part of your hypogonadism (secondary) diagnosis? On top of that I am wondering if the MRI showed anything out of the ordinary? And if so what did you do about your pituitary issue that showed up on the MRI? And one more side question: Did you have a bad reaction to the contrast dye that is used via IV during the MRI?

I have an adenoma revealed by the MRI. Out of the ordinary.....the hamster fell off the wheel up there. Result is I'm now on TRT for life. Glad I found it as I was down to a 59 T level and dropping fast. No reaction to the dye at all. Piece of cake. Worst part was hearing the bad news.

Yes. My endo had me get an mri. There was something in there less than 2cm. He said nothing to worry about. Ill have another one in six months to see if it grew. That dye made me feel like i was going to puke my guts our. But that feeling only lasted about ten secs. I was worried before, but it was a piece of cake.
Edit...i think it was 2 mm, not cm.

Kel, if your talking about the adenoma....nothing that I know of. Endo said it was so small that some labs wouldn't even register it as anything. I questioned the hell out of him and he "assured" me that this was not the cause of my low t, hypothyroidism, or insomnia. On this one, i guess i gotta believe him. If it grows then I'll know he could be mistaken.

I have a pit tumor as well. It took me 5 months for the doctors to actually admit it was causing my low T. At least now I'm back on trt so I'm getting back to normal. All I felt when the dye went in was like my arm was ice cold.
Good luck buddy.

Hi louie2400: I am new to TRT, but I would advise you to get an MRI. I had one done, there was no tumor, and I had no adverse reaction to the dye. If there indeed is a pituitary tumor, I know its removal can balance your hormonal levels; however, this seems to be on a case to case basis. Regardless, I think it is important to know your diagnosis.

You gotta do this. With prior arrangement, they can give you a seditive to relieve all stress and fear. I thought about it, but there was no need. It was simple. Sure, after the dye I wanted to puke my guts out, but it subsided before I knew it. Make the appt. and do it soon. You are not your dad. :-)

Louie:
As of right now they are just treating the low testosterone and don't want to remove it. So I'm stuck on trt the rest of my life at age 24, but I supose there's far worse things that could have happened.
